Ten Horror Movie Child Stars: Where Are They Now?

Ayanna Guyhto
Do you ever wonder what happened to those kids who were cast in some of the creepiest horror films of all time? Were they emotionally scarred for life? Did they end up living in the fast lane? Or did they fade blissfully into obscurity? Audiences often keep up with the kids that play in ordinary mainstream films. But very seldom do people ever find out what's become of the little people that make horror films so authentically scary. If you're dying to know (bad pun unintended) what's happened to some of Hollywood's most obscure little horror film actors, read on...

Child's Play (1988): "Andy" (Alex Vincent)

Remember that cute little tyke named Andy who had an evil killing doll as a BFF? Well that adorable face has rarely been seen in the media since the 1990's. After graduating from high school in Hackensack, New Jersey, he gave acting another try. But after several failed auditions, he decided to pursue another passion, as a musician in a band called Perception.

Halloween 4 & 5 (1988, 1989): "Jamie" (Danielle Harris)

Little Jamie Lloyd was unfortunate enough to be related to a brutal masked killer named Michael Myers. She wowed audiences with her adept portrayal of a sweet, yet troubled grade schooler. Fortunately for Harris, who filled the role in these two Halloween movies, she went on to star in quite a few more. She's been seen on TV's "Cold Case" and "The West Wing." She even discussed a stalking incident on Dr. Phil's talk show. But In 2007, she starred in Rob Zombie's version of the movie, taking on the role of Annie Brackett instead-a role she reprised when Zombie released Halloween II in 2009.

The Omen (1976): "Damien" (Harvey Stephens)

The evil-looking little boy who played Damien in The Omen terrified millions of viewers. But few realized that the boy's sweet blond locks were dyed black for the movie. Stephens eventually ducked out of show business in favor of a career in finance and real estate. However, as recently as 2008, the obscure actor appeared on Howard Stern's radio show to provide an interview. He also does autograph signings from time to time.

Candyman (1992): "Jake" (DeJuan Guy)

His role wasn't that large; but it was relatively memorable. Actor DeJuan Guy played Jake, the pint-sized boy who advised Virginia Madsen's character (Helen) of the murderous "Candyman". Though you may not have recognized the young star, he's had a string of television and film appearances since the early 1990's. His credits include "Sister, Sister", "CSI", and several repeat episodes on 2003's "Boston Public" (in the recurring role of J.T.)

The Lost Boys (1987): "Laddie" (Chance Michael Corbitt)

I know what you're thinking: Who in the heck is "Laddie"? But if you were an astute horror film watcher in the 1980's, you'd know "Laddie" as the kid vampire in cult film The Lost Boys. The tot had few lines, but gave the vampire "family" a bit of authenticity. These days Laddie, also known as Chance Michael Corbitt has had a couple minor film roles. He's featured in the role of Peter in 2005's Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm School (Say that five times, fast)-and even had a few appearances on Baywatch.

The People Under the Stairs (1991): "Fool aka Poindexter" (Brandon Adams)

There are few people that actually remember this Wes Craven horror film. The People Under the Stairs followed the plight of "Fool", a young black boy who encounters a pair of deranged, incestuous lunatics who murder people, only to feed the scraps of human flesh to the deformed "creatures" who live under their stairs. Fool, portrayed by Brandon Adams, is also known for imitating Michael Jackson in Moonwalker. He's also appeared in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but is now a rapper who performs under the name B. Lee.

Pet Sematary (1989): "Gage" (Miko Hughes)

Perhaps actor Miko Hughes was too young to be traumatized by playing a scalpel-wielding toddler brought back from the dead. This precocious youngster, known for filling the role of "Gage" went on to perform on TV shows "Touched by an Angel" and "The Nanny." He also provided the voice-over for the baby twins featured in 1999's Baby Geniuses. These days, in addition to having become a beekeeper, he's also a DJ.

The Shining (1980): "Danny" (Danny Lloyd)

You may be surprised to discover that the eerie little boy who portrayed Danny in hit film, The Shining, had no idea he was even acting in a horror film. The impressive tiny actor retired from show business shortly after starring in Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece. He went on to become a science professor.

The Shining (1980): "Those Creepy Twin Girls" (Lisa & Louise Burns)

If you have seen the IKEA commercial in which a pair of dark-haired twin girls proclaim that they "can do two things at once"-you might have been a bit creeped out. This is because the twins shown in this ad were perhaps styled after the pair featured in Stanley Kubrick's 1980 horror classic, The Shining. The twins haunting millions in the chilling movie never starred in another film; they too, took up brainy professional careers-one in literature, and the other in microbiology.

I love Danielle Harris. She was totally convincing in the lame series of crap called Halloween. I love all of Stephen Kings kids. You have to be extremely talented to do the work of Mr. Stephen King. They all aced it.
