Ten Hot Toys for Christmas Your Kids Will Love

Interactive, Fun and Unique Hot Toys for the Entire Family

Linda Cole
I love heading out to the stores at Christmas time to find unique, interesting and fun educational or interactive toys for my niece and nephew. The hot toys for Christmas are in stores now. If your favorite store is out of stock, keep checking back, but keep in mind, these hot toys will be harder to find the closer we get to Christmas.

Topping the list of hot toys for Christmas is a cute little interactive toy that is going extremely fast.

Zhu Zhu Pet Hamster. An interactive hamster with over 40 different sound effects of squeaks and chirps as only a surprisingly cute high tech plush toy hamster can make. So far, this is the number one hot toy of the season for young kids. It retails between $8.00 and $10.00. This must have hot toy for Christmas is for ages 4 years and up and is already becoming hard to find. Walmart and Target are currently out of stock, but keep checking back. Toys R Us, Amazon.com and Ebay still have some in stock, but they are going fast.

Tickle Me Elmo Extreme TMX. With three tickle spots, one on the chin, tummy and toe, Tickle Me Elmo is sure to delight any child as he erupts in laughter and rolls around. Elmo returns to a standing position once he's done laughing. Each tickle spot produces a different reaction each time. This toy is for ages 24 months and up. Retails starting at around $40.00, but the price on this hot Christmas toy is already beginning to jump as they become harder to find. You can find Elmo at Walmart, Amazon.com, Ebay and Toys R Us.

Fuzz Luvz. All they want is a little love. The more your child talks to and touches these interesting, interactive toys, the more they respond. They begin by opening their eyes, then their hands appear. This cute hot toy will then stand and more surprises are revealed. Recommended age is 36 months and up. Retails at $20.00 and up depending on color. These hot toys are already flying off the shelves and are hard to find. Amazon.com still has some listed, but will soon join most retail stores as their stock runs out.

Disney NetPal Netbook. This toy really isn't a toy at all. It's an honest to goodness working computer for kids 6 years and up. It comes with kid friendly software which features, what else, Disney characters, Wi-Fi, Windows XP Home and has an 8.9 inch LCD display. Parents will be happy to know there are more than 40 parental control options available. This nifty netbook suggested retail price begins at $350.00 and would make a great Christmas gift for 2009. You can find this netbook at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Amazon.com and Ebay.

Radica U-Create Music. This is a cool hot toy that puts kids and tweens in the music producer's chair. They can easily mix music, create their own songs and remix it using this fun and entertaining digital music system. Give your little music lover the gift of creating their own music this Christmas. A great way to learn how music is created and produced. Recommended ages start at 8 years and the suggested retail price is around $35.00. Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Amazon.com and Ebay still have this hot toy in stock.

Mattel's Mindflex. Now here's a really cool toy that is brain powered. If you are looking for a game to stimulate your child's mind, then look no further. This game requires concentration to move a ball around a course. It can be a race against the clock or just a fun challenge between family and friends. In order to control the ball, you have to focus and use mental activity to get the ball to do what you want it to do. Starting at around $80.00, this toy is made for children ages 8 years or older. Mindflex can be found at Target, Amazon.com and Ebay. Walmart and Toys R Us are currently out of stock.

D-Rex Interactive Dinosaur by Mattel. This nifty hot toy for the dinosaur lover in your family is playful and loyal and a great choice for Christmas 2009. However, as is the nature of dinosaurs, it can also be rather rude at times and if provoked will squirt water at its "prey". A fun interactive hot toy for hours of enjoyment and when he is tamed, this toy will return his loyalty by guarding other things for your child. For ages 4 years and up and retails at $35.00. You can still find D-Rex on the shelves at Walmart, Target, Amazon.com and Ebay.

Trapdoor Checkers. Definitely, a new take on the ageless game of checkers. This toy gives all ages an equal chance to win by opening or closing trapdoors that can change a winning strategy with a spin and trapdoors that suddenly appear. For ages 4 and up and retails at around $30.00. You can find this toy at Target, Amazon.com and Ebay. Walmart and Toys R Us are out of stock at the present time.

Bop It. This toy is predicted to be in the top 10 best selling hot toys for Christmas 2009 and may become hard to find. It's a simple game similar to Simon Says. You hold the game in your hands and follow instructions as a voice instructs you. For example, it tells you to pull a specific handle. You have a short time to find and pull that handle. If you run out of time, you lose. If you correctly do as instructed, you continue on with the instructions coming faster each time. There are 300 fun difficulty levels. For children 8 years and up. A great party game for adults as well. Challenge yourself with a one on one game or play with your friends. This hot toy can be found for different retail prices and is a great choice for a Christmas gift. Expect to pay from $18.00 up to around $30.00, depending on where you purchase this toy. You can still find Bop It at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Amazon.com and Ebay.

LeapFrog Text & Learn. Cell phones and blackberries are not toys, yet children are just like adults and love gadgets with lights and sounds. This hot toy is perfect for small hands to learn how our real life gadgets help us stay in communication. It's also a great way to learn how to spell, even if it is in the language of today's shorthand. This is a great Christmas gift for children ages 3 years and older. Retails at around $22.00 and can be found at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Amazon.com and Ebay.

These top 10 hot toys for Christmas are only a few of the toys your children will be requesting this Christmas. If they have one of these toys on their list, don't wait - go to your nearest retail store now. The closer we get to Christmas, the harder it will be to find these hot toys. Happy hunting and good luck.
