Ten Minor Yet Easy Lifestyle Changes That Make a Big Difference

NOM
While many make New Years' resolutions, most people do not keep them. No matter what time of year it is, there are small, easy changes you can make that can have a big impact. Ten simple ideas for change are:

1. Brushing your teeth with your non-dominant opposite hand. This improves your coordination, builds your brain function in a way that helps counteract the development of Alzheimer's, and generally makes you more adept at using both hands.

2. Drink Green tea when possible, it is good for your skin, heart, it rebuilds healthy cells throughout your body, and Dr. Perricone of Yale University School of Medicine claims that substituting green tea for your morning cup of coffee can make you lose as much as ten pounds in six weeks.

3. Wear sunscreen to protect from skin damage, even if you are already a fried crisp of skin from all that sunbathing, a daily sunscreen can reverse the damage of ten years of sunbathing.

4. Many of us have loose change rumbling around the car or on our dresser, redeem loose change & put into savings or pay off credit card debt, or save up for an item you have been wanting instead of putting that on credit.

5. Carry something to read for the time you waste during the day standing in line or waiting for public transportation, etc to make use of the time you lose each day

6. While stuck in traffic, do butt clenches for a few seconds at a time to occupy yourself.

7. If you spend time on the computer, minimize the ergonomic stress on your neck, shoulders and back by tucking your chin back towards your neck.

8. Stretching. While drying your hair or in the shower, do gentle stretches to lengthen your muscles to warm them up for the rigors of the day.

9. Good posture can make you look up to ten pounds thinner, taller and more confident. It is hard to remember at first, but soon it becomes second nature. AskMen.com recommends to look at a mirror while standing up straight. Straighten out whatever is slouching and note the difference. Your ears, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles should make one straight line. Relax your shoulders and slightly bend your knees.

10. Don't super size the fries. Most of us do not enjoy cold, stale fries but just mindlessly finish them without enjoying them. Instead, get a small order of fries so you still get the taste and enjoyment of fries, without the extra calories that you really won't enjoy. A McDonalds small fries is 250 calories, whereas a large is 570.

By being conscious of regularly doing these things, you can build your ability to keep a good consistent effort to keep your new goals and think of new ones you can add. By making a habit by adding one or more of these small changes to improve your health, appearance and finances, it is easier to add in bigger goals and the pattern is set for you to keep bigger resolutions.
