Ten in One: March 31: Gawtcha'

I have a beautiful faerie, oracle-card deck with paintings by Brian Froud (an oracle is sort of like tarot cards but different cards and stories). Oracles usually use characters to represent experiences or thought patterns for us to meditate on.

One of the cards is called "Gawtcha". I couldn't pick a better faerie to usher in April Fools Day. According to the author, Jessica Macbeth, Gawtcha breaks down structures that are restraining us whether we want him to or not. She urges us to remember that breakdown can lead to breakthrough and suggests that we do not pick up the pieces and try to put them back together like they were. Very close to Gawtcha is G. Hobyah who waves our imaginary fears in front of us, making them look as real as possible. As Macbeth says, "It's time to look for the truth behind our fears, to distinguish between what is real and what is just our projection of old traumas and fears into our imaginary future."

Like anything, their existence depends on their ability to get us to believe in them or their illusions. When we pay attention to the drama, anger, fears, etc they wave in front of us through others or experience, we give them more power in our lives.

I have seen these two hard working faeries quite frequently over the last week. The further we go in shining as our highest vision of ourselves, the more our old false fears are waved in front of us to see if they can still hold us back. We find ourselves tempted to fall into old bouts of worry or even dive headfirst into them. If we make the choice, we can watch in astonishment as we realize they don't get to us anymore. We may even face actual experiences that will allow us to realize that they are not as bad as we always feared they were. Either way, we are allowed the opportunity to let go and find freedom from those fears. It takes absolute faith that we are on the right path in stepping beyond old patterns and to not letting these fears control us any longer. The more steadfast we are in continuing towards realizing our dreams, we will see them try harder and harder to hold their power in our life. Begin to recognize them, and they lose power, meaning we will hear from them less. It's no fun shaking sticks at people that don't give good reactions.

At the same time there are many swirling and chaotic things happening around us, there are huge blessings blossoming in magnificent ways. Which one will we give power to with our attention? Now, more than ever, it is important to keep our focus on what we want to see more of. Now, more than ever, it is important to continue to walk on the water without averting our eyes from our destination.

A friend of mine had to revive her son from a drug overdose this week. She began to feel guilty that she didn't feel as bad about it as she thought she should have. Her friend told her "There's nothing wrong with knowing that everything will be okay no matter how bad it seems." I know it seems a lot to ask, but I ask you to try to have faith like this in the coming week. Two: Coming Soon:

We're going to be selling raffle tickets for an array of interesting items this week at the kids open mic, the hideaway, and Longshots to help raise funds for the trip to build housing on the Native American reservation in May. Last year, I requested the mayor to officially proclaim May 1 as Global Love Day in Louisville, and he did! The governor's office declined doing so. We've sent a request this year, so if you get a chance, please send an email or make a phone call to the governor, asking them to join over 111 cities, countries, and towns in making this proclamation for our state!

I am grateful for the challenges that continue to present opportunities for new realizations, and for the ever guiding hand that keeps me on track with what I want.
I am grateful for the overwhelming amount of amazing people I continue to meet and realize as a part of our community.

I am grateful for the blessings continually showered upon me, and for the completion of my kids book! Yippie! *does a little dance

I am grateful for the amazing amount of wonderful and healthy things sprouting up all over our city. Businesses, groups of people, art and music that support a new way of life are making their presence known.

I am so grateful I could weep. The more I let myself out and move towards things I want to accomplish, people step forward to help me and support my efforts. Five: The Tightrope:

My friend and I were walking down the road a week ago and passed a bulletin board for band flyers. One had a picture of a happy soldier from the 40's or 50's with an octopus tentacle coming up from behind him.I had to laugh as I asked him which band it was for. "I don't know," he said. "But it reminds me of you."

HA! Thanks a lot!

"Have you developed mutant powers?" It asked. "Uncle Sam wants YOU".

Those who have developed their mutant powers of empathy, kindness, and awareness are going to be very much in demand in the coming year. Many old structures are going to fall apart and many people are going to be confused. Many will need to be uplifted by the love and blessings of others in their communities. Are you in a place to help others? Are you in a place to provide love and uplifting support to yourself?

Ten: Grand Finale:

In a world where we create what we believe in, I believe in you. I believe in the truest you, and I hope you'll let that shine before it's too late. The only thing that can hurt you is fear. It blinds you to what is going on. When you let go of fear and shine, you illuminate everything around you. You see your old fears for what they are and can laugh at the faeries waving little blankets with scary pictures on them in front of you. The more you laugh, the brighter you will shine. Then, you see the faeries looking quite stunned in all the light, wondering why their little blankies don't scare you anymore. Then, maybe you can say "Boo!" for once and see them scatter, looking for some comfort. Dream well, dream deep and may all paths lead you back to the heart.
