I would like to express what I believe to be one of the greatest deceptions of Cherokee NC Indian Reservation tribal trout waters.

I have fished in streams, rivers, boats and kayaks from NY State to Florida.
I have been involved with stocking programs to promote fishing to youngsters and to help the local trout clubs gain revenue.
Recently in 2009; I have been intrigued by Cherokee NC advertisements on the internet and sportsman gloating that the Cherokee Indian reservation is the place to fish.
I spent $80.00 through the span of two weekend vacations to Cherokee and only had pictures of three trout to show for my efforts. I want to make it clear these were extraneous two three day fishing vacations, maybe my bad luck but, after meeting some friendly local Cherokee Indians on my second vacation who took me under there wing and shared some quite funny but, very disappointing fishing stories about there flawed stocking program on the Cherokee Indian Reservation.

I have visited Cherokee many times in my life. My family has always enjoyed Unto these hills, SantaLand, and the BearZoo. We also like to visit the shops and visit with the Indians there. I even had the opportunity to dance with them one time. The Cherokees are very friendly, but take a lot of pride in their heritage.
I would like to visit Harrah's one day.
