Ten Reasons Why You Should Not Buy Maybelline's Water-proof Liquid Eyeliner

Chances are you have heard of the well-known brand Maybelline and it's commercials with the Victorias Secret models advertising their products. Just watching their commercials makes you want to get off your bum and go to the nearest store. Maybelline has many products for the face, lips and nails but what about the eyes? I personally have sad looking eyes and ever since I could remember I have been wearing eyeliner to fix that problem. Now like everything else in life one must try new things. I decided to try the Maybelline waterproof eyeliner since I have only used the pencil eyeliner I thought I would give it a try. Given the fact that the title of my article starts with "ten reasons why you should not buy" might tell you what the outcome of my curiosity was. I have listed my reasons to give you "the reader" a better understanding of my opinions toward this particular product.

#10 The dreadful application process
Having to draw a perfect line isn't an easy thing to do unless you are a professional drawer. This product has a tip that doesn't allow you to make a perfect line, you might make a thick line on one eye and on the other one a thin line.

#9 Is it worth the price?
Maybelline's waterproof liquid eyeliner goes for about $7.00. It is a pricey eyeliner and might not be worth every penny once you have it on and see the results. I would go for a different eyeliner that isn't too much and might be better than this one.

#8 Run, run from it!
When choosing a liquid eyeliner you want to make sure it doesn't run. If you ever sneeze or yawn and your eyes get watery you don't want the liner to smudge all over your face right? Wrong, this particular eyeliner does not live up to it's name. They say on their website "No smudges, smears, or runs" totally untrue. When I started using this product I had constant runs and smudges. When I was at work I had to go to the restroom every 10 minutes and make sure my face was clean from smears. If it rains beware! the liner will run all the way down to your cheeks.

#7 Mistake proof application
Well they say if you make a mistake while applying the liner on your eyes it can easily be fixed. The only way I could get the liner to disappear was with my daughters wipes. Even if you use some water and a towel it will not come out completely. Once you have made a mistake you have to wipe the whole thing off and start over.

#6 Long lasting
Sure its long lasting, the smears and the runs are, not the liner. The liner comes in a small bottle that has about .25 ml of the liquid,it is so small that it only lasts a little bit, and for the price it's not worth spending so much if you have to always run and buy another one so soon.

#5 Colors
It comes in 3 different colors : black, brown and Grey. Not much variety and the color isn't really dark if you choose black. To get a dark color you need to re-apply it over the first coat so you get a darker black.

#4 Maybelline
Maybe because it is a Maybelline brand many women automatically think it will be great, don't be fooled. Just because it is a well-known product doesn't mean it won't flop. I myself used this product for a month because I was too cheap to go out and by a different one. I have just recently upgraded to a much better liquid eyeliner and am glad I did.

I myself am not the only person who has complained about this product. I have read reviews about it and have noticed that it is all similar to my complaints. If you want to know if a product is good before buying it make sure to read reviews,this is very helpful. I didn't think of checking out this particular product review and I wish I would have.

#2 Patches
When wearing this eyeliner for at least 3 hours I was getting black patches under my eyes. As I mentioned before it is very hard to take off, so be prepared with some wipes to clean it off.

I give this product a 1 out of 5 score, I like the fact that it was a liquid eyeliner and that the small bottle was cute. Other than that everything else didn't seem to do it for me. I f you decide to try this product just be aware of what I mentioned in this article before you go out and buy it. There are many other liquid eyeliners that are really water-proof.
