Ten Reasons Why You Should Not Buy "Natural Cures" by Kevin Trudeau
A Book that Kills Trees for Greed
10. The title doesn't match the content.
There is little, if any, content in Natural Cures that has anything to do with reasonably studied holistic medicine. Most of the book is Kevin Trudeau's account of how "they" don't want you to know these secrets. I speculate that his animosity towards the government stems from the fines levied on him by the FTC in 1998 and again in 2004 for making false claims.
9. The cures are not based on scientific research.
Observations without sound research do not yield valid conclusions. For example, Trudeau claims that cancer is caused by acidity in the body. To protect yourself from cancer, he claims that you should make your body more alkaline by eating foods rich in minerals such as calcium. The problem is that by the time any food leaves the human stomach, the body's natural hydrochloric acid has acidified everything for further digestion. Blood maintains a very narrow PH balance regardless of diet. If it didn't, we'd all be dead today.
8. Natural Cures preys on people's desperations.
In the introduction to Natural Cures, Trudeau tells a story of how he almost died. From this tragic event, he repented his life and developed his health system. The only problem with the story is that Trudeau never had the near death experience that he so vividly writes. When repeatedly confronted for the medical evidence, he fails to produce any documents to support his tale. This is the classic sympathetic hook. Others who are grasping at straws due to their poor heath are hooked into thinking that his "discoveries" can help them, too.
7. It lacks any real content.
The list of "cures" takes up all of 11 pages of this 378 page work (not including appendices). The rest of the text is Trudeau's claim that "they," are repressing this valuable information. 367 pages to back 11 pages of "cures" seems a little excessive to me.
6. It is a one-note "cure".
Almost all the diseases listed are attributed to Candida. It is a monumental stretch to make a connection between this common yeast and Attention Deficit Disorder or Acid Reflux. Trudeau blames Candida yeast, the common cause of the common vaginal yeast infection, on almost every problem known to the human experience. This notion was popularized in a 1983 book by William Crook. Trudeau is recycling what has become an urban myth.
5. The "cures" are old wives tales and not true holistic medicine.
Apple cider vinegar has been a known, temporary relief from acid reflux since the early days of the Roman Empire. Nothing in this tome is new. It is just a regurgitation of simple relief from common ailments. Holistic medicine is grounded in research and fact. This book is not holistic in any way, shape or form.
4. Who are "They?"
The classic "us against them" method is employed in chapter 4 to lure the reader into wanting to believe that the government that hurt Trudeau so badly is out to get everyone. The real beef that Trudeau has with the government is that they took 3 million dollars out of his bank account.
3. I'm the crazy one.
The basic defense of all of the claims laid down in this book depends on the reader believing that "they" are out to destroy us. Shifting blame is an easy thing to do, especially for people in poor health. Much of the book is devoted to circular logic about government agencies run amuck.
2. Natural Cures harms the public.
People have bought into this "health system" and injured themselves. There are multiple accounts of people who discontinued prescribed medications on the advice of this book. There are an equal number of emergency room admissions for those people. Trudeau would have us all believe that it is withdrawal from the toxins in the medications that admitted these patients. He implicates silver tooth fillings, a realistically inert metal, as the root cause for multiple ills. There is no science behind this urban legend either.
1. Multiple complaints.
The internet is awash in complaints with disillusioned people who have bought this book. Other complaints about Trudeau's worthless newsletter, which you will be offered when you buy the book, are littered across the internet, too. The subscription is almost impossible to cancel.
If you are still not convinced that this book is useless and Trudeau a con-artist refer to any scam reporting site on the web. A trip to Scam.com should convince you. Need more proof? Call the 800 number flashed on the screen during any infomercial. You will be prompted to buy more than the book, Natural Cures.
You will be bombarded with all sorts of other useless products, such as a subscription to the worthless newsletter and magazines and all sorts of seditious "cures." Oddly, Trudeau is still pushing some of the very products that he was sanctioned for in 1998, such as the stop smoking system.
If you still have a desire to read this tree killer, you can pick it up in any bookstore at fire-sale prices. You will do best to just pick it up at any poor soul's garage sale.
