Ten Reasons Why You Should Not Buy Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face

Philosophy is one of my favorite cosmetic brands. I have to admit it pains me to write a negative review about the Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face. While in general I have almost nothing negative to say about any of their products, this one leaves a little to be desired.

I bought Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face in an SPF 15 to protect my aging facial skin form the sun. As I get older, and hopefully wiser, I don't mind investing a little of my hard earned money on good products that will make my life more enjoyable or easier. A great sunscreen for the face is something every woman should have. A sunscreen made especially for the face should protect your from the sun, never clog pores or make you break out, work well under your regular makeup, and most of all be worth the price tag on the bottle.

I was willing to invest in Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face based on the satisfaction I have had using many of their other products. Although a 2 ounce bottle of Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face cost me $16.00, I have to admit I thought I was investing in a quality product that might do a little moisturizing as well. I wasn't expecting dry winter skin to be completely moisturized, but I have used other great sunscreens made specifically for the face that provided adequate moisturizing in the summer months.

Anyway, this is all a lead in to my top ten reasons you should never buy Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face.

1. My biggest problem with Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face is that it made me break out. Yes, actually break out in acne. I did not have any acne to speak of in high school, college, or even now. Throughout my life I have had only occasional stress acne breakout that consisted of one pimple at a time. Maybe I had two pimples if pigs were flying. Anyway, within three days of using Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face I had four pimples around the chin and jaw line of my face. Reason number one to never buy Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face would be zit number one.

5. Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face was so oily feeling that it looked terrible under my makeup. My make up seemed to vanish off of my face more quickly than normal. It was like when you try to wear eye shadow and you have a cold. The eye shadow just does not stay put for long. It disappears into your puffy red eyelids somewhere.

6. The Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face did not readily soak into my skin. It seemed to rest on top of my skin in a glistening sheen, which lead to the next problem.

7. My face powder looked caked on after it combined with the Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face. Because it was so oily feeling, the facial sun block seemed to continually soak up any amount of powder I put on my face. I have relatively dry skin and was actually shocked at how shiny my face was.

8. After using the Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face I noticed that I started seeing more of my make up on the collar of my shirt. I can only assume his is because it kept my normally dry face powder slightly damp.

9. Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face costs about $16.00. Now, that is a hefty price tag for a little SPF protection for your face. I have used many products that cost well under $10 that did not clog my pores or leave my face shiny.

10. You can only buy Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face at a major department store. Normally I do not mind this, I love roaming through the make up counter looking at all the new products. Sun block is an important part of my daily routine and I would prefer it to be easily accessible. With so many good products available at the drug store and grocery store, it seems like going out of your way for a bottle of Philosophy Shelter, Sunscreen for the Face may not be all that it is cracked up to be.
