1. Hugh Grant: He is funny and charming in this movie. In addition, his character, William, owns a travel bookshop. I love traveling and books. Oh yeaah, did I mention that his accent is creamy and dreamy? Well, it is.
2. The location: I want to travel to England. Therefore, watching Notting Hill transports me to England for two hours.
3. Julia Roberts: This movie showed that Julia Roberts could be both romantic and dramatic. Plus, she probably is the biggest movie star in the world; therefore, she was the perfect choice to play Anna Scott.
4. The soundtrack: The music in Notting Hill is superb. I listen to it at once a week. I love She and all of the instrumental pieces.
5. The supporting characters: The supporting casts adds to Notting Hill. They are all fresh characters. Spike, William's roomate is quirky and Honey, William's sister is funny.
6. The ending: William and Anna get married and are going to have a baby. This movie proves that there are fairy tales and that they do come true.
7. The story: Yes, it is a movie but, the story works very well. The relationship has its ups and downs. It could have gone either way.
8. The chemistry: Julia and Hugh seemed to have on screen intellectual, emotional, and physical chemistry. Therefore, the romance between Anna and William worked. The audience rooted for them to get together forever.
9. The love scene: The intimacy between them was great. I could watch the love scene over and over agian.
10. Spike and William becoming inlaws: The fact that Spike and Honey got married too was a wonderful surprise.
I love romantic comedies because they provide the fairy tale ending that many people desire. A great romantic comedy is Notting Hill because of a charming, British actor, a sweet American star, a memorable soundtrack, and a cast of zany supporting characters. In short, Notting Hill rocks. Post a CommentThis is one of my favorite movies. My husband wasn't really interested in watching it at first (assuming it was just a "chick flick") but he enjoyed it as well.
