Ten Soccer Wives Who Are Also Celebrities

Coined during the early part of the last decade by the British press, the term WAG is a lexicon currently used to describe the high profile wives and girlfriends of famous soccer players. Often times these wives and girlfriends are celebrities in there own right, having careers as actresses, models, singers, writers, and businesswomen. Other times celebrity status comes by virtue of their relationships to stars of the game. As a tribute to the 2010 Word Cup here are ten famous WAGs of internationally known soccer players.

Kristen Pazik

An ex-model from Minnesota, of Polish decent, Kristen Pazik married Ukraine soccer star Andriy Schvchenko in July of 2004. Andriy who has played for such famous teams as Milan (Italy's Series A League), Chelsea (England's Premier League), and Dynamo Kyiv (Ukraine Premier League), is a renown scorer who as of 2009-10 has 45 goals in 95 internal appearances. Caroline Celico

The wife of Brazilian superstar Kaka, whom she met in high school, Carolina Celico was only 17 years old when she got engaged, and 18 when she married in December of 2005. While Kaka has gone on to fame and fortune while playing for both Real Madrid (Spain's La Liga) and the Brazilian national team, Celico is a former model capable of speaking five different languages. An actress and model who was named Holland's sexist female in 2003, the petite (5'2") Slyvie van der Vaart is the wife of accomplished Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart. Married in 2005, in a wedding that was broadcast in their native country, the couple added a child, Damian Rafael, in 2006. Along with her other professional accomplishments, Sylvie has also launched a jewelry line called Pure by Sylvie. With an acting and modeling career which began at the tender age of three, Itali's Ilary Blasi long held celebrity status in her country before marrying Italian international superstar Francesco Totti in 2005. The couple currently has two kids (Cristian and Chanel), which has not stopped Blasi from starting in Italy's highly rated show Le Iene.
