8. The Sox have retired six numbers worn by their best players. #1 Bobby Doerr, #4 Joe Cronin, #8 Carl Yastremski, #9 Ted Williams, #27 Carlton Fisk, and #42 which has been retired by all all Major League clubs, Jackie Robinson.
9. David Ortiz hit more home runs in a single season than any other Red Sox player ever with 54 in 2006.
10. All Red Sox television broadcasts not seen on ESPN or FOX, are broadcast on NESN (new England Sports Network).
