1. Card Number. This is your exclusive 16-digit card number. You will need to quote this number in various communication/correspondence with your bank and shopping etc on the net.

2. Your Name. Your name is printed on the bottom half of the card. Once you receive your card you must check it for accuracy.

3. Photograph and Signature. Almost all the cards are personalized with your photograph and signature. It provided added security during transactions. So, always provide a smiling photo for the card.

4. Logo and Hologram. This is the logo of the service provide viz VISA, MASTER, MASTERO etc with their hologram. You can use your card only on the locations which display this logo or hologram.

5. Validity. It has two information valid thru and valid from in the mm/yy format. This information you may need sometimes for Net Banking. Always keep in mind to renew your card in time to avoid any in convenience.

6. Electronic Usage Sign. In case of purchase transactions, the card can only be used at merchant outlets with an electronic Point-of-Sale swipe terminal. Please do not try and use your card at merchants with "paper imprinters" or for mail/telephone/internet order transactions.

7. Magnetic Strip. Important information pertaining to your card is encoded here. Please protect your card from scratching or exposure to magnets and magnetic fields as they can damage the strip.

8. Signature Strip. Sign this strip as soon as you receive your card with a non erasable ball point pen (preferably black colour). The signature you will use to sign charge slips at merchant outlets need to be same as the signature on the card.

9. Customer Service Number. There is a 24-Hour Customer Service Number on which you can call you card issuing organisation in case you need any assistance.

10. Personal Identification Number(PIN). This number you will receive separately either by post or you will need to collect it personally to operate your card. Remember to change your PIN immediately on receipt else memorise your PIN and destroy the printed copy.
