Ten Tips on How to Stay Healthy

Sabrina Ricci
The flu season is almost here, so you may want to take some precautions to make sure you stay healthy. Here is a top ten list on how to prevent sickness.

1. Eat your breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It will give your brain necessary nutrients and it will keep your blood sugar level steady. However, make sure not to overeat.

2. Sleep

Your body heals itself while you sleep, so you need to give it some time every night. Also, try to keep a consistent sleep schedule. This will help you feel more energetic and healthy.

3. Eat regularly

Not eating regularly may lower your blood sugar and will cause you to feel lethargic. Also, based on personal experience, it may irritate your digestive system and cause you some intestinal problems. And instead of three square meals per day, you can try eating a number of small meals throughout the day to make sure you never get too hungry.

4. Do not eat a lot of sugar

Large amounts of sugar may disrupt your body from properly absorbing all essential nutrients and proteins, which may lead to malnutrition. It may also cause headaches or make you feel jittery.

5. Drink regularly

Drinking lots of juice and water helps flush out toxins in your body. It is also important in general to keep hydrated.

6. Urinate often

Urinating is a sign that you are drinking enough fluids. Also, the more you urinate, the less likely you are to get a bladder infection-which is horribly painful and inconvenient.

7. Eat healthy

Having a balanced diet of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats is good for your body. It will also help keep your bowel movements regular, which will make you happy.

8. Do not smoke

Nowadays it may seem like everyone is saying, "don't smoke," but research has shown it can lead to health problems.

9. Exercise regularly

Working out thirty minutes most days will help you feel more energetic and happy. It will also help you sleep better at night. And for the record, fast walking for 30 minutes counts as a decent work out.

10. Wash your hands regularly

Germaphobes know what's good for you. By washing your hands regularly, you are preventing germs from accidentally being wiped into your eye or spread via a handshake.

If you do find yourself sick this flu season, remember to relax as much as possible. Rest and drink plenty of fluids, and you will feel better in no time!
