Ten Unusual Hotels in the U.S.

If you ever want to try something different when you go on a trip, check out one of the unusual lodgings offered at the ten following places. Simply click on the name of the lodge to view their site.

1. Jules Underwater Lodge - This lodge is unique because it is underwater. Located in Key Largo, Florida, you'll have to pay $475 per person per night for you stay at the Underwater Lodge.

2. The Pink Palace of the Pacific: The Royal Hawaiian Hotel - This hotel is unusual for obvious reasons - it is pink and looks like a palace. The Pink Palace is located in Oahu, Hawaii at starts at $300 per night.

3. The Original Treehouse Cottages - These treehouse cottages located in Arkansas are more than 22 feet off the ground. The treehouse cottages are around $145 per night and if you're on your honeymoon, you get complimentary champagne and chocolates.

4. Jailer's Inn - This bed and breakfast located in Kentucky allows you to spend the night in jail without giving you a permanent record. The cells start at $80 per night and you get a full breakfast in the courtyard.

5. Kokopelli's Cave Bed & Breakfast - Located in New Mexico, guests get to sleep 70 feet underground in a cave. Rates start at $260 per night and while meals are not served, the refrigerator comes well stocked.

6. Wigwam Motel - At the Wigwam Motel in Arizona, you'll get to stay in bedrooms the shape of a wigwam. Prices start at $48 for a one night stay.

7. Dog Bark Park Inn - This bed and breakfast is located inside of a large man-made beagle. Located in Ohio, rates start at $92 per night and breakfast, of course, is included.

8. Madonna Inn - Located in California, the Madonna Inn boasts of having 110 rooms all with different themes. Prices start at $169 per night and you can stay in a golfer's room, a room with a waterfall shower, and more.

9. East Brother Light Station - Have you ever wanted to visit a lighthouse? If so, the East Brother Light Station does you one better by offering accommodations to let you spend the night in a light house. Located on an island near San Francisco, rooms start at $295 per night.

10. Aurora-Express - If you like trains, try staying at the Aurora-Express, a bed and breakfast made out of Alaska Railroad cars. Prices start at $145 per night for the train rooms.

    I'm going to bookmark this page...when we go on vacations it is so much fun to stay at places that are a little different. One trip we stayed on a Llama ranch-kids remember it to this day.
