With all of the Valentine's Day books for infants and toddlers on the market, I have tried to simplify things by offering you ten prime choices. Valentine's Day is a colorful and happy time, two things that babies and toddlers thrive on! Enjoy spending quality reading time with your child.

Ten Valentine's Day Books for Infants and Toddlers

1. Skidamarink! I Love You
The text in this Valentine's Day book is the children's song Skidamarink. Corresponding photographs are by Michael Scott. Skidamarink! I Love You is a hardcover book consisting of 12 pages. Amazon lists its reading level as baby-preschool.

2. Counting Kisses
Counting Kisses is a great book for Valentine's Day as its focus is on family love. Infants and toddlers will enjoy the illustrations of Mom, Dad and Grandma giving the baby kisses. This book is written and illustrated by Karen Katz. It is a 32 page board book. Amazon lists its reading level as baby-preschool.

3. Biscuit's Valentine's Day
Biscuit's Valentine's Day is a 20 page paperback book written by Alyssa Satin Capucilli. Illustrations are by Pat Schories. This lovely book is sure to be appreciated by your infant and toddler. What's not to love about a cute puppy named Biscuit? Amazon lists the reading level of Biscuit's Valentine's Day as baby-preschool.

4. Clifford's First Valentine's Day
Here is another fantastic children's book by Norman Bridwell. In this book, we celebrate Clifford the Big Red Dog's first Valentine's Day with Emily Elizabeth. Clifford's First Valentine's Day is a 32 page paperback. Amazon lists its reading level at ages 4-8, but I assure you that this darling book (and darling Clifford) is loved by infants and toddlers the world over!

5. Tucker's Valentine

Tucker's Valentine is a story about Cupid trying to find love (as in another puppy, not a chew toy or biscuit) for little Tucker. Written and illustrated by Leslie McGuirk, Tucker's Valentine is a 28 page board book. Amazon lists the reading level for this book as baby-preschool.

6. Corduroy's Valentine Activity Book
Corduroy's Valentine Activity Book is a 16 page paperback that Amazon lists as appropriate for ages baby-preschool. The story is written by Don Freeman and illustrated by Lisa McCue. This book includes 18 valentines among other fun activities.

7. Elmo's Valentine
Elmo's Valentine is a board book illustrated by David Prebenna. This is an interactive book with which older babies and toddlers can move Elmo's valentine from one of his friends to another throughout the book. This book has 22 pages. Amazon lists its reading level as baby-preschool.

8. Barney's Happy Valentine's Day
Barney's Happy Valentine's Day is a 24 page paperback book. Amazon lists its reading level as baby-preschool. Rare is the infant or toddler that does not love Barney the dinosaur! This story tells of Barney wishing all of his friends a happy Valentine's Day. It also includes 8 valentines for your baby or toddler to give to friends.

9. The Great Valentine's Day Surprise
The Great Valentine's Day Surprise is written and illustrated by Suzy-Jane Tanner. It is a 20 page lift-the-flap book. Infants and toddlers adore lift-the-flap books, enjoying the illustrations beneath as much the hundredth time as the first! Amazon lists the reading level for this book as baby-preschool.

10. Valentine Friends
Valentine Friends is a story of animal friends working together to make valentines. Valentine Friends is written by April Jones Prince and illustrated by Elisabeth Scholssberg. It is a 24 page paperback book. Amazon lists this book's reading level as baby-preschool.
