Ten Ways to Have a Beautiful Kitchen for Free
No Cost Ideas to Increase Your Kitchen's Eye Appeal and Functionality
In these modern times we want to do more than we have the money to do. Sure, we'd love to remodel or redecorate our kitchens. How many of us have the money to do so though? Here are ten things you can do to improve the look, feel, and functionality of your kitchen that don't cost anything!
1. What is the main focal point of an eat in kitchen? It's the kitchen table. If your eyes directly go to the table and it is a mess you will not feel comfortable in the kitchen. The first thing you can do that costs nothing to improve the look and feel of your kitchen is to clean off the kitchen table. Do not allow people to leave their dishes, or personal items on the table. Keep it wiped down so that there are no crumbs or food residue. Use a spray bottle of diluted Lysol to keep it shiny clean and also germ free. Wipe with a cloth and see it sparkle invitingly.
2. The second thing you can do to keep your kitchen looking great is to clean off your counters. Don't allow papers, dishes, etc. to clutter up your counter space. Every time you need to use that space it should be free and ready. To the eye clean counters make a kitchen look well kept and attractive. Like the kitchen table, make sure to use your spray to wipe down counters too. They need to be clean to be not only nice to look at but also functional.
3. The third thing you can do to keep your kitchen looking great is your dishes! Dirty dishes should always be taken care of after meals. Rinse them and put them into the dishwasher, or quickly hand wash them after every meal to ensure that they are not an eyesore. Dirty dishes piled on the table, counters, or in the sink are just simply uninviting and unattractive. No on wants to eat or spend time in a dirty kitchen.
4. The fourth thing you can do to keep your kitchen looking great is to remove any stains on your counters. Say you have cream color counters. Say your toddler spills grape juice on one. You have a stain. Stains are unsightly. However, they can easily be removed with a cleaner you already have...a powder bleach cleaner often called comet. Scrub with your cleaner and a warm wet sponge. Watch the stain disappear.
5. The fifth thing you can do uses that same comet cleaner. Use it to keep your sink sparkling clean. Sinks dirty quite quickly. They leave your kitchen looking grimy when the do. Use your powdered bleach cleaner and your scrubbing sponge to make those sinks look like new again. Don't forget to scrub the hardware too as it can often have a build up that dulls it's shine terribly.
6. The sixth thing that costs nothing but will help to keep your kitchen looking great and inviting is to always make sure the garbage is taken out. Once a day take out the garbage. The kitchen is generally the room where most things are thrown away. It is usually where the main garbage can of the house is kept. Keep it taken out and avoid seeing it pile up. That is just not something anyone wants to see, or smell.
7. The seventh thing you can do for no cost that will help to keep your kitchen looking it's beautiful best is to wipe down your walls. Things often get splattered and sprayed in the kitchen. The walls often collect little spots, smears and smudges of this and that. Whether you have paint or wallpaper on your kitchen walls you can spray them down with your spray cleaners and then wipe them down with a cloth or your sponge. The results will amaze you. Your walls will be again as fresh looking and as bright as the day you painted or wallpapered. What a difference this can make in the way your kitchen both looks and feels.
8. The eighth thing you can do to keep your kitchen looking it's best is to keep the floor clean. A dirty floor affects the way a room looks. In order to feel good about cooking and eating in your kitchen it must feel clean. Sweep and mop often. Sweeping daily is recommended as is mopping at least twice per week. For carpeted kitchen a daily vacuuming helps to keep that floor fresh looking all the time.
9. The ninth thing you can do is to make sure that you kitchen stove is good and clean. It should be cleaned every time you use it just for the sake of being sanitary. However, this also greatly improves the way your kitchen looks and feels. If you use your spray cleaner and the kitchen sponge to clean up messes and spills immediately after cooking you will not have to worry about scrubbing. They will easily wipe right off leaving your stove shiny and sparkling clean.
10. Speaking of shiny and clean the tenth thing that you can do to keep your kitchen looking great is to wipe down all other hard surfaces with that same spray cleaner. The refrigerator, the cabinets, and the pantry door are all surfaces that should be wiped down at least on or two times a week, if not daily. Keep your kitchen looking fresh, clean, and beautiful each and everyday! Improve it's functionality while you're at it! Thanks for reading a take care!
