2) Exercise - Exercise for at least 20 minutes a day. Try the postures of yoga that will help in improving the muscle strength, flexibility of your body, breathing, blood circulation and will help in mental clarity and calmness of the soul. Stretching will reduce your mental and physical stress, tensions and anxiety.
3) Laughter - Laughter is the best medicine for all your tensions. Laughter helps in cutting down your stress. It reduces stress hormones like adrenaline (epinephrine) and cortisol. It also helps in your immune system by increasing the number of your Natural Killer T-cells. These help in defending viral attacks and damaged cells. So smile and always try to be happy.
4) A Massage - A good massage helps in relaxing your muscles and a deep tissue massage helps in relaxing your muscle fibers. During the massage, focusing on your breathing technique is also as important as relaxing your muscles. Try to do this from a certified deep tissue massage therapist.
5) Listening to music - If you love music, try to go for your favorite music. Listening to your favorite number will help in reducing stress and anxiety. The sounds soothes your tension and normalize your blood pressure and stress. Try to pay attention on how you feel when you hear some particular song or music.
6) Bath or sauna - A hot shower will help you in relieving your sore muscles and joints. It will also help in reducing your stress and tension and will help in a good night's sleep. You can add some more relaxing techniques to your bath, Add some soothing music, some naturally scented bath salts, bubble bath or bath foam that will create an inexpensive and convenient spa experience in the privacy of your home. A bath or sauna will help in warming up your core body temperature. This will increase your blood circulation and help in transporting more oxygen and nutrients to your body. Stay in your steam room for about 10-15 minutes and fully relax.
7) A Cup of tea - Regularly drinking tea can help in strengthening your immune system. It helps in your immune system and your ability to fight off germs and infections. Green and black teas both have a beneficial amino acid called L-theanine which can increase the infection fighting capacity of gamma delta T cells. L-theanine helps in relaxation and calmness.
8) Positive thinking - If you think optimistically, this will help in reducing stress, tension and anxiety. Often this is how you percieve things. If you keep your attitude positive, you will find good in what life throws your way and probably you will always see at the bright side of things that will enhance your ability to effectively manage your stress.
9) Take a Walk - The best thing you can enjoy to do to relieve your stress is go outside for some fresh air. Just a stroll around can help you. If some limitations keep you indoors, try climbing stairs, or moving parts of your leg and arm muscles. This will help in increasing your blood circulation.
10) Sleeping - Taking enough sound sleep helps in reducing the stress levels, immune function and disease resistance. A lack of sleep will make you irritable, sluggish, forgetful and you will have difficulty in concentrating or coping with daily life activities. Try to take at least seven hours of sleep every night. If your schedule allows you, take 20-40 minutes power nap in the afternoon.
