Ten Years of Bentley's Best

Word that Bentley is considering a new product line has the automotive industry wondering which direction they will go with their legendary style, comfort, and function. Several of their coupes unmatched in quality and luxury have features that would be beneficial for their new line, and with that thought in mind we present:

10 Years of Bentley's Best:

2001 Bentley Arnage Red Label- Made for the American market, it was the ideal car for those who prefer the view and privacy of the rear seat. Automatic rear seats as well as in the front, make entry and exit comfortable and dignified. It's BMW V-8 Engine gives it power to move through any situation with authority and its luxurious look made it a head turner in any environment.

2002 Bentley Azure- This two door, four-seat convertible was an upper end sports car lover's chariot. It featured leather seats, wool rugs, and walnut banding. Its push button convertible top operation and remote control CD changer, all but made you take for granted its quiet powerful engine and sleek look.

2003 Bentley Arnage R- Quicksilver gear changes, ultra quiet interior, the feel of the Mulsanne and the go of the GT made the Arnage R the influence coupe of 2003. It was a big car with a big impact.

2004 Bentley Continental GT- Billed as the fastest four-passenger coupe in the world, The Continental GTs success was largely attributed to it's new German owners, chances are it was wildly popular because of its 6 speed automatic transmission ahead of the steering wheel and it's seamless speed adjustment. It was definitely a thrill seeker's coupe.

2005 Bentley T Mulliner- Featuring a Beluga hide and walnut interior, the Mulliner T is a gentleman's car with a rogue's heart. It features comfortable and spacious rear seats as well as the usual pampering feel of the lavish interior. New for Bentley design was four deep-set headlamps surrounded by glossy chrome bezels, a new bumper and hood profile. A car that takes your breath away from the moment you see it coming.

2006 Bentley Flying Spur- This sexy sedan's straighter lines and stylish look might make most people think that Bentley was raising their standards and thus raising their prices but although it's style was a step up, the price actually went down largely due to the fact that most of the parts in this new coupe were made in Germany where the car itself was crafted. High standards of production assured buyers that this car was impeccably built, comfortable and powerful as have always been cars carrying the Bentley name. Its lower price and longer straighter lines notwithstanding, its strength was it's smooth ride.

2007 Continental GT-This model helped Bentley make a comeback in a time when luxury cars were in the middle of a sales slump. It was designed to be comfortable for many different body types and comfortable it is, at any speed. This two door coupe grips the road with such fierceness that it seems to eat up mountain turns and desert straightaways with the same appetite. It reaches 62 mph in 4.7 seconds, not even enough time to kick up dust.

2008 Bentley Brooklands-The first year in production it boasted highest torque rating of any automotive engine ever. The Brooklands engine took it from 0 to 60 MPH in five seconds flat. No price reduction here. It sold for twice the price of the Flying Spur.

2009 Bentley Brooklands- Decadence, that is all. It holds the most powerful V-8 the company has ever produced in the most luxurious chassis attainable. Its classic design is reminiscent of Roaring Twenties. The Great Gatsby only dreamed of driving such an indulgent touring coupe. It's semi-automatic transmission makes driving it effortless and its pillarless windows seem to take away all boundaries. A fantasy on wheels.

2010 Bentley Mulsanne- Unveiled in 2009 at Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance, this stylish sporting coupe was, in it's original 1930's incarnation, one of W.O. Bentley's favorites. Designed with all the quality craftsmanship and style of the original, the Mulsanne can easily and quietly reach 100 in a manner worthy of the Autobahn.

What will 2011 bring for Bentley? Rumour has it, a brand new line. Stay tuned for details.
