TenHunt - an Online Scavenger Hunt

It's Free, It's Awesome, and I Promise It's for Real!!!

My husband and I were meeting some other couples for dinner at The Habit one night. One couple, who is almost always right on time, was over 30 minutes late that night. Why? Because they couldn't tear themselves away from the weekly TenHunt.

What is TenHunt? TenHunt is an online scavenger hunt. Each week, players login at the scheduled TenHunt start time. Players are given 10 questions and 10 websites on which to find the answers to those questions. The first person to finish wins the grand prize. There are also prizes for runners up, prizes for the people who referred the winners, and random prize drawings among everyone who finished the TenHunt. Prizes so far have included things such as a Nintendo Wii, Xbox, iPod, and a portable DVD player.

The cool thing about TenHunt is that, unlike random online raffles, TenHunt is more about skill than it is about luck. If you are internet savvy and detail oriented, then you stand a fairly good chance of winning a TenHunt.

You may be wondering if TenHunt is a scam. If you have ever clicked on an internet ad to "Win an iPod," only to find out you had to sign up for something expensive, you may think that TenHunt sounds suspicious. However, I assure you that TenHunt is not a scam! Not only does TenHunt promise not to sell your personal information or email address, it doesn't cost a penny to join. TenHunt will NEVER ask you for a credit card number or payment of any kind.

See, TenHunt is sponsored by the websites that players must visit to answer the scavenger hunt questions. With the concept that web traffic of any kind will help promote business, websites pay TenHunt to be included in the scavenger hunt. For this reason, TenHunt is a free game with completely free prizes.

TenHunt is currently on hiatus for a while to work on improving site function, but you can still sign-up on tenhunt.com to be a TenHunt member and they will notify you when the next game is coming up.

In the meantime, checkout new site http://www.wiseoz.com. WISEOZ is a teaming-inspired, event-based, and interest-oriented community where members win prizes, participate, socialize, and connect through virtual online events (“WiseWits”), interest-based social networks (“Circles of Interest”), and establishment of an online identity (“My Ego”). The WiseWits are similar to tenhunt.com's approach but with greater challenges that last longer. Prizes are starting to ramp up as well.

We are brand new this week and would appreciate all the interest we can generate. Thanks!

This sounds awesome but when I went to their site to check it out, I found they are "taking some time off" to improve the game. Guess I'll have to wait to see if it lives up to this great review.
