In the words of John Madden, the Titans like to grind it out. That's exactly what they did. It wasn't pretty but this team is going back to the playoffs for the first time in four years. The Titans defeated the Colts 16-10 in the RCA Dome on Sunday night football. Here is a look at the key game points.

The Titans cap off a great opening drive with an 8 yard run by Chris Brown.

Adam Vinatieri nails a 37 yard field goal to make it 7-3.

After a fumble by LenDale White, the Colts capitalize with a 3 yard touchdown pass from Jim Sorgi to Craphonso Thorpe.

Rob Bironas's huge field goal from 54 yards out gives the Titans a 13-10 lead.

Bironas adds another field goal to give the Titans a 16-10 Victory.

The Titans started this must win game with a great opening drive. The Titans drove 80 yards pounding the football with their ground game and throwing short passes to move down the field. Chris Brown pushed the ball into the endzone giving them the early lead. The Titan defense managed to limit the scoring from Peyton Manning and the Colts starters early in the game. Tennessee's receivers did a good job catching the ball throughout the game however the team depended on Pro Bowler Rob Bironas to come up with some key scores to win this game.

Vince Young had a pretty good game while he was on the field. Young was 14 for 18 with 157 yards passing while in the game. Unfortunately he did go down with an injury to his quad in the third quarter. Kerry Collins stepped in and had a nice game. Collins threw 10-13 for 106 yards and getting the Titans in position to get points and win this game.

So the Titans move on to play in the playoffs. Their first trip to the playoffs since 2003. Awaiting them will be the San Diego Chargers and L.T. These teams know each other well as they met earlier in December. In a very physical matchup, the Chargers edged out the Titans in overtime. This should make for a very good playoff matchup as the Titans will look to get revenge against the Chargers. The Titans really out played San Diego for 3 1/2 quarters, before letting the game get away in the final minutes. If Vince Young is healthy, and the defense can get pressure on Rivers, the Titans have a chance to pull the upset even though they will be on the road.

For now the Titans fans can enjoy the fact that 'The Largely improved Titans have made the Playoffs." Now that they are there, they can't be satisfied. Vince Young and company need to see just how far they can advance.
