Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski kicks a 50 yard field goal to give the Raiders the early 3-0 lead.
Rob Bironas kicks a 35 yard field goal to tie the game at 3-3 in the first quarter.
Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski kicks two more field goals including a 54 yarder to give the Raiders a 9-3 lead at halftime.
After getting the ground game going with Lendale White, rookie Chris Henry scores on a 24 yard run and then a dive giving the Titans a 10-9 lead.
After recovering a fumble deep in Raider territory the Titans settle for another Rob Bironas field goal giving them a 13-9 lead.
Chris Hope gets his 10th career TD to seal the win for the Titans.
Once again the Titans defense was outstanding. The Titans front four of Haynesworth, Odom, Vandenbosh and Laboy, got to the Raiders quaterback Culpepper all game long. They were quick on the outside and had big Haynesworth coming up the middle. The secondary did not give up the big play like in past weeks. The Defense forced turnovers and caused havoc for the Raiders all game long.
Offensively there are positives and negatives. The positive: The running game looked good. Lendale White had his best game of the season rushing for 133 yards on 25 attempts. Lendale had some big gains and looked better as the game went on. Rookie Chris Henry continued to take advantage of his playing opportunity. The Rookie scored his second touchdown of the season on a 24 yard diving run. Henry had a total of 48 yards on four attempts. Henry seems to really be emerging. He has a great mix of speed and power.
On the negative side the Titans still have two big problems. First their passing game was not existent. They have to find a way to get some yards in the air. Vince Young was a measly 4 for 7 with 42 yards. That is going to get you a win very often. They have got to find a way to get Vince back into a rhythm. Furthermore the Titans still are struggling when they get into the end zone. Both Ben Troupe and Roydell Williams had opportunities to make plays on very catchable balls. Fortunately the Titans were able to hold the Raiders off but they must realize this luck will eventually run out.
Overall you have to be pleased if you are a Titans fan. Hopefully they can correct some of the problems on offense and get some more points on the board. Next week they will have another tough game at home against Carolina.
