Tennessee Titans Are Reduced to Role of Spoiler Against Kansas City Chiefs
Matt Cassel led the Kansas City Chiefs to a huge victory over a young St Louis Rams team 27-13. Cassel and the Chiefs running game dominated the the Rams from the opening game. The Tennessee Titans pounded the ball and Kerry Collins made some big pass plays as the Tennessee Titans put away the Houston Texans on their home field in week 15.

Randy Moss is the forgotten man in this offense and he may be nailing down the coffin to his career if he fails to perform in the last few games of the season. The Tennessee Titans offense now revolves around Chris Johnson and the running game once more. Johnson should have a strong finish and this game against the Kansas City Chiefs could be one of his biggest games of the season.
The Kansas City Chiefs pass defense has been allowing 232 yards per game. They are decent in the secondary but young and learning. They rank 27th in the NFL for interceptions. Up front the Kansas City Chiefs defense does not provide much of a pass rush. They rank 14th in sacks and they are average defending the run.
As a defense the Kansas City Chiefs are predictable and once they make the NFL Playoffs they will be one and done. The Tennessee Titans offense has the edge over the Kansas City Chiefs defense.

The Tennessee Titans defense was one of the best in the NFL for much of the season. Their secondary has been their undoing in close games. They only have 15 interceptions which ranks them 10th in the NFL and their pass rush has also been average, they rank 10th in sacks. The Tennessee Titans downfall this season has been their defense but it has been masked by all the turmoil on offense this season.
Matt Cassel should be completely recovered from his appendectomy but it may have no effect on this game. The Kansas City Chiefs will run the ball to establish the play action and then they will institute a short passing game against the Tennessee Titans. A key injury to watch for is Jamaal Charles. He left the field late in the Kansas City Chiefs win with a possible hamstring injury.
Dwayne Bowe has been on the shelf for a few weeks but if he matches up with the smaller Courtland Finnegan in this game he should do well. The Tennessee Titans defense and the Kansas City Chiefs offense are very even for this game.

Todd,the Chiefs actually beat the Rams 27 to 13 not 27 to 14. Oh well. :)
