The Titans score a field goal on a 44 yard field goal.
The Chargers Nate Kaeding makes a 20 yard field goal.
Running Back Chris Brown makes 7 yard TD run to give Tennessee 10-3.
LenDale White scores a TD on a 7 yard run and Tennessee takes a commanding 17-3 lead going into the 4th quarter.
The Chargers score two 4th quarter TD's to send the game into overtime.
On their second possession of overtime LaDainlian Tomlinson has a 16 yard run to win the game for the Chargers.
This was a great physical football game. Unfortunately for Titans fans, Tennessee wan unable to hold on to a fourth quarter lead. The team falls to 7-6 but all hope for the playoffs is not lost. What a win this would have been for Tennessee though. Tennessee's defense without a doubt is great. That is when number 92 Albert Haynesworth is in the lineup. His presence makes everyone on their defense just a little bit better, especially Kyle Vandenbosh. The defense is physical and got after the quarterback. Phillip Rivers, Antonio Gates and Lorenzo Neal all went to the sidelines for the Chargers.
Tennessee did a good job running the ball in this game. LenDale White had his Fourth 100 yard running game of the season. Chris Brown is a nice complement, who comes in on occasion and makes nice runs. The Titans had some opportunities to put up a few more points in this game. A missed field goal by Rob Bironas in the second quarter would have been enough for the Titans to win this game. Vince Young had a sub par day appearing to be a little 'out of it' after a hit by Shaun Merriman in the second quarter.
Many Titans fans will blame the defense in the fourth quarter and play calling in overtime for this lost. The play calling, maybe, but the defense does not deserve the blame for this loss. The played outstanding and were tired late in this game. As far as the play calling, it's debatable. You'd like to see the Titans take two throws during their possession. However, you must keep in mind this team had to take care of the football and couldn't afford a safety or a possible interception deep in their own territory.
As disappointing as this loss is, Tennessee needs to put it behind them quickly. They still have a good shot to get in the post season. Although they will be on the road, they have a very winnable game against Kansas City next week. If the Titans can put this physical and difficult loss behind them, they still have a chance to keep playing into January.
