I ordered two pieces of salmon sushi, one piece of tuna sushi, one piece of egg (tamago) sushi, one order of California roll, miso soup, and a seaweed salad. My grand total at Tenshi Sushi in Houston, Texas (including tax) was under $20. Fortunately they had free wi-fi so I was able to check my e-mail while I waited. It took about five minutes to make my sushi and then I was out the door on my way home.
I started with the soup which had the requisite cubes of tofu and strips of seaweed but the flavor was a tad bland. The sushi, however, more than made up for the soup. It was possibly one of the best sushi meals I have ever had. The fish was fresh and soft which made it very easy to eat. The salmon just melted like butter in my mouth and had a wonderful taste. The size of the fish was large as well and it stuck to the rice which was impressive as often times the fish tends to slide off.
Even the ginger was fresh, and I appreciated that it didn't taste like store bought ginger slices.
I loved the way they prepared the California roll with the sesame seeds on the outside. The roll was delicious as well. By the time I got to the seaweed salad I was pretty much full but I did have a bite. It was neither overwhelming nor soggy; instead it had a nice flavor and consistency.
Overall I was very pleased with my take out from Tenshi Sushi in Houston, Texas and would highly recommend it.
