Many campgrounds offer heated showers and running toilets in a community area. Some of these places require you to pay a minimum fee per shower or they offer these services for free. If amenities like these are important to you its best to call a head or look at a campgrounds website to see what they offer.
The only down side to tent camping is the quantity of items you need to pack and bring to your campsite. We have found if you pack a normal 20 gallon tote with all your camping supplies it stops you from bringing any extras you will feel you just need to bring but once camping never even touch.
If you live in an area that is high in mosquitoes you may want to avoid getting a place next to an open source of water as mosquitoes tend to migrate around open sources of water. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing camping experience you will want to avoid having your tent site set up around other campers or around any community areas.
It's very important to make sure that you pack along certain items: flashlights or lanterns, first aid kit that is up to date and stocked, insect repellent, a water proof bag, water proof matches, a tarp (if rain is expected), extra tent stakes, rope (to tie items up in the tree if need be to keep from animals), compass if you are camping in a national forest, water purification pills if you are camping where water is not obtainable other than by creek or lake and an extra change of clothing placed in the water proof bag.
When tent camping it's the perfect time to get in touch with peaceful and quaint side of nature it's also a time to spend quality time with your family or friends. It's also a time to leave the stresses of your life behind. When camping if you will not have a store within driving distance or you plan to hike to your destination is important that you pack your food according to your needs.
