Tequila's Mexican Restaurant

If you are looking for great authentic Mexican food in the Lakwood Colorado area than you need to try Tequila's! It is located in Lakewood Colorado at 1535 S. Kipling Parkway. When Tequila's moved into the strip mall right near my house I thought "just what we need, another bad Mexican restaurant", my wife made me go and I am very happy for that. I have sense learned that it is a chain and has several locations, but when you sit down and see the food coming out of the kitchen you would never know. The food is extremely authentic and extremely flavorful. I guess the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover" plays true with this little restaurant.

Tequila's Mexican restaurant in Lakewood is extremely clean and the atmosphere is fun. The people are nice and the service is excellent. But when it comes to the food I can't say that I've had better. There is one thing that I was not completely impressed with and that is their queso sauce. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but it's not great either. The queso is the only complaint I have about it but other than that everything is fantastic. There are a few menu items that I was unfamiliar with just because of the authenticity so I was a little hesitant to try some of them. After taking the plunge on some of those items, I have never been disappointed in any of my choices.

Let's move on to the value, everyone is looking for a good value and Tequila's provides one. The portions are very generous and the prices are fair. The prices range from $6.00 to $15.00 but the average is around $9.00 per person. For the amount of food you get the prices are very reasonable. They also have a great kids menu with a large variety to choose from. I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old, they have always left happy.

Tequila's is located at the intersection of Kipling and Jewell in the King Soopers shopping center. It doesn't look like much from the outside but you will be very impressed with what goes on inside. The food is great, the atmosphere is fun, and the service is exceptional. I would be so bold to say that Tequila's is the best Mexican restaurant in all of South Denver.
