Just watch the trailer. It totally ruins the entire film. Terminator Salvation.
I might as well just have donated my money to Warner Bros. than actually sit though that again. It was long, it was boring, it lagged in so many areas and it totally bored me because I've seen it before in "Battlestar Galatica".
The acting was alright. Christian Bale is a great actor but his portrayal of John Connor was melodramatic and, as I've coined, Bad Bale. Bad acting is different, we've all seen that, but this isn't bad acting this is just an actor doing badly based on how well I (and others) know he can do. The person that totally stole the entire movie out from underneath everyone was Sam Worthington (who plays Marcus Wright). Fantastic job and he was oddly hypnotic with his scenes. He had this comforting presence that was harmonious in all this confusion with the action and the plot. And by confusion I mean boredom and by boredom I mean me falling in and out of sleep. Familiar face goes to Anton Yelchin who is Daddy Connor, or Kyle Reese, because he also plays in Star Trek as Chekov.
If you're a fan you would seem to have a predisposition towards liking it if someone who is also a fan states it's better than the third installment. I personally, as do most, enjoyed the second one a lot and can't really recall the third one enough to remember if I liked it or not. Apparently it was forgettable. I think this was bleh but the word around the net is that (for fans) this is better than the third one. So there you go if you were wondering that.
I couldn't sit through this again if I were paid to do so. I figured out the entire film from the beginning and it just played out and it annoyed me to no end. I was not thrilled by the action and I was not thrilled by the script and I was certainly not thrilled by a rehash of plots that "Battlestar Galatica" had already touched on and done 100 times better.
I don't even know if I would use the word disappointment. I feel totally fooled into thinking it would be decent when all it was-was a film that read a story to me. It didn't make me care. It didn't make me wonder. It sure the hell didn't make me think. It was mindless and emotionless and totally bland. I think I'm done being pejorative.
