Terra Distress

Casey
The dirt and foliage seem to call me now

As they appear from beneath the snow

The forest invites me to come feel spring as the transition begins

With the song birds singing and the snow melting off trees...

Beneath it all mother earth moans, bearing the scars

Scars we've put upon her, garbage dumped, emissions emitted, oil spilled

All things we cannot take back now

Now it is the time for reclamation of a clean healthy environment for all

It is the time to go "green" as they say

But mostly it's the time to take the little steps

To bring back our mother earth, in all her glory!

This one was for a contest that you had to do as exclusive... I'm doing a book too and will include most of my poetry in it.

A very true concept. Question- do you post your poetry as Exclusive? I write poems but am loath to post them here as Exclusive since I still hope to be published in book form someday.
