Terrelle Pryor to Supplemental Draft: How Will He Fare in NFL?

Nick Meyer
Terrelle Pryor has officially entered the NFL's supplemental draft and now the wait begins. He will not be able to practice until week 6 if he gets taken by an NFL team and he has a lot of ground to make up.

In addition, Pryor has to face a lot of scrutiny and pressure when he does get in the league coming off his infamous scandal at Ohio State.

Pryor has a lot of technical issues that need to be corrected as well. He will work out on Saturday in Pittsburgh, within his home state of Pennsylvania, for all 32 NFL teams and do drills similar to what he would have done at the NFL Draft combine.

The former star will now have to prove himself all over again. He has serious concerns about his accuracy, some arm strength questions in some circles, and a delivery that might need major tweaking.

Vince Young had some similar delivery questions to go along with similar size and athleticism when he came out from Texas, but they are not as pronounced as what Pryor is facing.

Truth be told, Pryor's delivery is one of the ugliest in recent rookie history. That doesn't mean he can't get it worked out and still be successful, however.

If Pryor can mature in a hurry and get his mechanics down, he could eventually become something similar to what Young did with less accuracy.

Pryor was once the top prospect in high school ball and he's a winner; at the very least he can be a solid backup QB with his athletic ability, impressive size, and experience as a winner of some big games.

It might take time, however. Interest should be average at the beginning for Pryor unless he really surprises people throwing the ball in his first workout.

The true test of Pryor will begin now as he needs to mature and become a true pro in a short period of time, and move on from the fallout of the scandal with a "Me against the world" type of mentality. Can he pull it off and become a solid NFL quarterback? The scouting world will find out a lot on Saturday.

The prediction here on Pryor is that he will be a solid backup and eventual average-level starter in the NFL with some flashes of brilliance.
