Terrorism, an International Concern

Ronnie Manns
Some time ago, our current president was trying to convince leaders the world over that terrorism was not just an American problem. When he said this some began to call him naïve and soft, with the recent terrorist actions, many now may began to believe.

Terrorism is the new frontier and the time is now for all of us to get on board. We must face this threat and not run from it. We must deal with this in combination with the help of all countries. For so long it seems to have been a "go-it-alone" strategy but that can no longer be the case. We must share information and techniques to solving this crime. We must make sure that citizens of all countries are made aware that those who claim to fight for their freedom is the very ones whose body count includes more Muslims than anyone else. If they are the protector of their religion, then why do they rank higher than anyone when it comes to those who worship in the same manner being a part of the dead and dying by their hands? Just as those leaders came together to save this planet from global warming, they must also do the same when it comes to much greater threat and that's terrorism.

There are those countries who may believe that inviting terrorist into their country means that they will not suffer any casualties or injuries, need only understand this. The bully on the playground has followers but at any given time, if a follower does not act as quickly as the bully wishes them to, they too will suffer. No country is safe from this type and only when we come together will we ever truly be safe. No one can tell what's playing in someone's heart and mind but careful consideration of the actions that they take may provide a good clue.

Since this president took office there have been a number of attempted terrorist attacks and only through the hard work, dedication and determination of our law enforcement officials have they been just that, an attempt. It is a sad state of affairs when it seems okay to blame this president for the attempts but rail against anyone who may wish the blame the past president for the most horrific terrorist attack ever on American soil. Asking for help when you need it is not a source of weakness but a strength that only few possess. To better prove this point it must be remembered that even Superman had Super Friends.
