Terrorist Who Tried to Blow Up Plane in Detroit May Actually Be Just a Bit Lonely and Friendless

Marc Schenker
Terrorist Abdulmutallab (the 20-something who tried to make a murderous statement against Christians with his Christmas Day blow-up attempt on the flight to Detroit) is, apparently, a "lonely" and "depressed" young man. That is only if you believe internet postings supposedly written by the terrorist himself, spanning a timeframe of 2005 to 2007. Awwww, maybe now, the liberals and Democrats will have sympathy for him and decide he has to be treated for "depression" as opposed to being incarcerated and executed as a terrorist who tried to mass-murder passengers on a Detroit-bound plane!

According to the Washington Post, Abdulmutallab was inconsolable and yearning for the mere, simple friendship that a "true, Muslim friend" would ostensibly give him. More awwwwww...I guess...I guess that makes his attempted plan to mass-murder hundreds of passengers on the Detroit-based flight on Christmas somehow slightly less evil and guilty, yes? At least, I can already hear some liberals espousing those sentiments.

The AP goes a bit further, revealing excerpts of Terrorist Abdulmutallab's postings, with one reading: "i am in a situation where i do not have a friend, i have no one to speak too, no one to consult, no one to support me and i feel depressed and lonely. i do not know what to do."

In another posting, Terrorist Abdulmutallab goes so far as to actually confront his feelings of lust for women (he was a budding, sexually awakening, young man back then, after all), which clash with the more conservative or extremist teachings of Islam. An example is in one post, he warns that "...the hair of a woman can easily arouse a man." Mmmm, so true, so true! He also chastises himself for not-I repeat, NOT!-having the decency to lower his gaze around unveiled women! Egads! The audacity, I say!

Before long, however, as with all Islamofascists or wannabes, Abdulmutallab's postings and probably general frame of mind quickly degenerate into full-on, full-blown, Islamic-extremist rhetoric, the kind heard more commonly on the latest Al-Qaeda, terror tape. In a February 20, 2005, post, Abdulmuttalab muses: "I imagine how the great jihad will take place, how the muslims will win, insha Allah and rule the whole world, and establish the greatest empire once again!!!" Clearly, a mere Tylenol or Motrin AB will no longer do the trick for him at this point.

It has to be pointed out that these postings purported to be Terrorist Abdulmutallab's cannot at this time be 100% verified as his. However, there's more-than-good, circumstantial evidence pointing to only him and him alone. For instance, the username through which these posts were made is "Farouk1986," a reference to Abdulmutallab's middle name and his birth year, too.

With this more-than-good preponderance of evidence that Abdulmutallab was a brewing terror threat who was growing ever-more radicalized, it all the more brands the Obama Administration and his Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, as being asleep at the wheel in the most shameful sense of the phrase for not taking warnings about him seriously!

:) I enjoyed this one. Not much left to say...you said it all. Well, except...maybe if he would have just given into his feelings of "lust" for a woman...he would be laying happily in a bed somewhere with said woman instead of where he is now.

Actually heard an interview with his ex teacher in London, and he comes from a wealthy family in Nigeria, so seems particularly strange that he's gone down the wrong path. His ex teacher said he had just thrown his promising life away.

It is shocking he escaped the "radar" and was able to get on a plane
