Test Confirms Three Newborn's Were Abandoned by Same Mother, One Dies

Katherine M.
A mother in Orosi, California has abandoned three newborn babies within 33 months, the last one passed away while waiting to be found. DNA tests released this week confirm their relativity.

It is not known who gave birth to the three babies but it is now clear that they are all siblings. Each born and abandoned 11 months after one another, they were left only two blocks apart.

The first newborn was a tiny baby boy who was found laying on a park bench with his umbilical cord still attached. He was alive and after examination was found to be healthy and has since been placed in foster care.

Less than a year later a baby girl was found in a parked pick-up truck. She also survived.

And again less than a year later another baby girl was found near a high school, also in a pick-up truck about 60 miles north of Fresno, California. This time the newborn wasn't as lucky as the other two abandoned earlier. She was found wrapped in a sweatshirt, but not breathing. Reports indicate the cold weather likely caused her death and she had survived less than a day.

A town that has been sad and in mourning of the abandoned babies now looks for answers on how this could happen and why a innocent newborn had to die.

Wednesday they gathered for a small funeral to mourn the loss off the third baby. She has been named "Angelita De'orosi" Meaning Orosi's little angel. When testing confirmed that all three babies were siblings the community really began to question. Who was the mother and how could anyone who knew her not realize that she had been pregnant three times and yet never ended up with a newborn to care for? What kind of trouble was she in if she left her babies out to die or be picked up by anyone who found them?

The small community has been concerned about the abandoned babies and their mother who gives birth and leaves her child. Orosi is a farm town in California with a population of 7,300. Those who live there wonder if she is a resident or comes there to drop off her babies for some reason. It seemed like too much of a coincidence when 3 newborns were found within such a close area range and almost exactly 11 months after one another.

The results of the DNA testing were announced Monday and experts have concluded that the first two babies were likely born with the same biological father. Little Angelita paternity didn't match up so she must have been fathered by another man.

Police have investigated and interviewed a women they thought may be connected to the three newborn's but her DNA did not match up with them and she was found to be not part of the events.

Authorities are now offering a $5,000 reward for information about the mother. She will likely face charges, especially since the youngest didn't survive. The concern is to whether or not she is in any danger herself and if there is a chance she might do this again, she needs to be found before another innocent life is lost.
