Context
This is the 9th lesson of the unit. Today will be a review over everything we have covered so far. I will work out example problems similar to the test tomorrow.
Try and cover absolutely everything that will be addressed on the test the following day.
Objectives
Students will need to show understanding of the unit as a whole.
Resources, Media and Technology
None(unless some of the students would like more practice using the protractors and/or rulers)
Procedures
I will check homework and answer any questions from the previous night's work.
After that, I will write the review problems on the board I want the students to work.
The first review problems I will just call on students to name off the types of triangles and the parts of.The missing angle problems I will have the students work them out at their seats. While they are working on those, I will be going around the room checking for some understanding. Next, I will work out the problems at the board. I will be calling on individual students to give me the missing angles in the diagrams. The final review problem I will go over will be a giant missing angle measurement problem. It will be three of four triangles on top of one another and they will have to use vertical angles, triangle sum theorem, linear pair, complementary angles, exterior angle theorem at least to come up with the missing angles. I will tell the students if they can find all 12 angles in the problem on the board then they will have no problem with that whole section of the test. After the review is finished, I will give a few problems for the students to work on their own. They will work on those for the remainder of class. I will be going around the room for the rest of class to make absolutely sure their are not any giant red flags on certain material for the class as a whole. The students that have been struggling with this unit, I will pay special attention to them on make sure that they are not completely lost. If they are, I will recommend staying after school for an hour to review the material with me. I will warn the students at the end of class, that we will begin the test immediately so I will not have time to answer ANY questions once the bell rings for the start of class. So I will need them to come to class prepared to begin right off the bat.
