Testing Rule 34

Bridget Ilene Delaney
Rule 34 states "If it exists, there is porn of it." This is from "Rules of the Internet." Recently, my sister, Briana Delaney, decided that we should test Rule 34. I headed into this venture with a little bit of trepidation, but figured that I would either see a lot of odd things or nothing at all.

The first thing that needs to be known is "does it exist?"

Of course, anything can exist. However, to test this rule, the existence has to be on the Internet. This would be because in order to have porn of such a thing on the internet, it would have to exist on the Internet.

We first tried searching for "cowboys riding elephants" and "porn." There were no results. We then tried "cowboys riding elephants." We found that this does not exist on the Internet as only somebody's dream is found. That means that Rule 34 cannot apply to "cowboys riding elephants."

We searched some obvious terms such as "Rugrats," "Spongebob," and "Giraffe." Of course there were porn versions of these. We didn't want to visit the sites, but the search results made it obvious.

We then tried searching for "hairy camels." There were picture of hairy camels on the Internet. These were literally camels. However, when the word porn was added to the search, it did not return good results. The sites were difficult to interpret from the results. Only once was a click made that was accidental that made us leave the site immediately. However, it was not about camels.

Of course, there were many sites about "camel toe."

We then searched another obvious term to find something that exists. It was easy to find "ballerina dogs." However, when we added "porn" to the end of the search, and not as a full phrase, but an extra word, there were no results. We are actually glad that there are no porn sites of ballerina dogs.

However, what we have found is that Rule 34 is not true. However, we are still not sure who first created the rules of the Internet or why people continue to add rules.

Writer should have used Rule #35

Rule #35 "If there is not porn of it, /b/ will make it."

And now some Rule 34er will see this page an make some of said porn.
