Tevana Tea Maker Review

A Heaven of a Tea

Sea Shepherd
If you haven't tried the varieties of Tevana loose leaf herbal teas, well, you do not know what you are missing. Across the many malls in the United States you may find a Tevana tea bar. Just the aroma alone will send your curiosity to check out this tea emporium. Tevana sells a variety of cast iron tea kettles, mugs, and other tea wares, including an assortment of healthy herbal loose leaf teas that can bring your life back to harmony. Ok, maybe not harmony, but it sure tastes great and smells like you're in aromatherapy.

The Tevana story began in 1997, when they opened their first teahouse in Atlanta, Georgia. The uniqueness of the name captures the feeling you get when you drink and smell the aroma of their teas. The name was created to mean a - heaven of a tea - an experience each customer has with their tea.
I bought their 16 oz. Tevana Tea maker which creates either a perfect two cups of hot tea or 16 ounces of ice tea. In a matter of 3-4 minutes you have the perfect herbal tea. You can order a mix of teas to create your own uniqueness of flavor or chose one of Tevana's own whimsical creations. I ordered half Queen of Babylon White Tea and Rooibos Rose Garden Tea.

The Queen of Babylon White Tea is very high in antioxidants and aids in detoxifying the body. Tevana claims there are studies that show white tea is excellent for the skin by reducing fine wrinkles. In addition, research indicates that white tea may inhibit the growth of certain forms of cancer.
The Rooibos Rose Garden tea is also high in antioxidants and rich in vitamins and minerals. It is caffeine free.

It is not inexpensive, especially if you buy white tea. To be honest with you, I thought I was buying an ounce of gold when I bought the white tea. White tea is a scarce product. However, based on my own research, the health benefits outweigh the cost for me. I was told on the -QT- by the sales girl that you can actually use the tea leaves three times before you need to use a new amount of tea. I tested it out and it is true. It's that strong. The only thing I did was steep it longer when I brewed it for the third try. So in essence, your 16 ounces of tea can go a very long way.

Here's a little suggestion if you want to enjoy ice tea. Instead of using ice cubes which dilutes the tea, I use fresh cold fruit like pineapple, strawberries, oranges, lemons or honey dew melon chunks. I figure I also get a little extra nutrition this way. If you'd like to know more about Tevana and their types of teas with their nutrition content, you can visit Tevana.com.
