Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine Open House
Learn About Animals and See What it is like to Be a Veterinarian
College Station, TX 77843
United States of America
What is the Open House?
Open House is an event where the public - adults and children alike - can get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes at one of the nation's top veterinary schools.
Indoor Events
Tours
There will be tours of both the large and small animal clinics where the public can view areas that are normally off limits. At the large animal clinic, there will be an opportunity to watch a goat ultrasound and even see the inside of a cow's stomach. In the small animal clinic, visitors can observe live spay and neuter surgeries, and visit special rooms (e.g. cardiology).
Surgery
And for those wanting to try their hands at being a real veterinarian, there is a chance to enter an operation room and perform surgery on a stuffed animal known as "Teddy Bear Surgery."
Pictures
Have your picture taken with Reveille, the dog, who is the mascot for Texas A&M.
Exhibits
View exhibits from Texas animal organizations where you can touch furry animals as well as scaly ones.

What a neat way to learn about a career :)
Sounds like a "dog"-gone good deal!
If I lived nearby I would go, interesting!
This could be a good eye opener for any wannabee vets in that area.
