Texas Country Sensation the Josh Abbott Band to Release New Album
She's like Texas to Hit Streets 2.16.10
In the blink of an eye the Josh Abbott Band has gone from an unknown artist to one of the fastest rising young stars in Texas country. Playing over 250 shows this past year, he has been performing to packed houses all across Texas and Oklahoma including Texas hot spots such as Wild West in Lubbock, Cowboys in San Antonio and Billy Bob's in Fort Worth. Now on the verge of breaking through to a new level of success, Josh Abbott dispels the myth that his band is an up and coming act; they have already arrived. Coming off the success of their 2008 debut album Scapegoat, the Josh Abbott Band now returns with their sophomore album She's Like Texas to hit streets February 16, 2010.
Produced by Erik Herbst, Josh Abbott wrote or co-wrote all of the 12 tracks on the album including the band's popular lead off single, "All Of A Sudden," which landed inside the Top 10 on the Texas Music Chart and brand new single, "She's Like Texas," to hit radio mid-January. She's Like Texas captures the raw, gritty country rock sound that defines the Josh Abbott Band experience. Released via Pretty Damn Tough Records / Thirty Tigers, the album features special guest performances from Kacey Musgraves on "Oh, Tonight" and Roger Creager and Trent Willmon on "End Of A Dirt Road."
"Our live shows are all about having a good time the Texas way," says Josh. "So for this album I wanted to give country fans a snapshot of living life in Texas in a way that no matter where you are from you can still relate to it."
Josh Abbott Band is already getting rave reviews from radio and fans alike. As KLLL's Ken Buckner said, "With the Texas Music Scene exploding...everyone is looking for the next Pat/Jack/etc...Josh Abbott is that guy. Musically, the songs run deep both with lyrics and passion. And vocally, Josh has the pipes that can belt out a drinkin' song, a haunting love ballad, or a "mainstream" single with ease. He's versatile, marketable, and live or studio...just puts out great work. West Texas has known this for a while...and it's only a matter of time before you hear him on stations spanning from Laredo to Long Island."
Currently Josh Abbott Band is on the road playing dates all across Texas and Oklahoma and most recently performed at the Steamboat Music Festival in Colorado.
