The Texas Board of Parole and Pardons voted on Thursday in favor of Kenneth Foster, Jr.. In a 6-1 vote. The recommendation went to Governor Rick Perry who commuted Kenneth Foster's death sentence to life in prison, according to a bulletin from the Death Penalty Focus Group.

Foster was convicted for being the get away driver in a robbery gone bad. Michael LaHood Jr. was murdered by Mauricio Brown who has already been executed by lethal injection. Foster was given the death sentence under the Texas Law Of Parties that states someone can be given the death sentence for just being present at the crime scene. Two other defendants in the same case Dilliard, and Stern were given long prison sentences.

Foster's case received national and international attention from the media, because he had not murdered anyone, and was still given a death sentence. Fosters family and friend s held rallies and protests in Texas, and Foster had many supporters. Prison rights activist and death penalty opponents were also supporting Foster, and making calls and faxes to the Governor and Parole Board offices.

Two other inmates were executed this week in Texas, the nations "busiest killing state." On Tuesday Daroyce Mosely was executed and on Wednesday John Joe Amador was executed. Foster had an execution date of August 30.

Praise God.. all Glory to Our Father!

I'm overjoyed with happiness and relief for the family of Kenneth Foster. This man should have never been charged, tried or convicted of capital murder.

Thank you Governor Rick Perry for having the courage to do the right thing in Kenneths case.
