The regular members of the church dressed old-fashioned, much as they did when the church began 97 years ago. Men were encouraged to wear overalls and women were encouraged to wear dresses resembling those of the turn of the century.
The outline of the celebration follows:
On Sunday April 27 at 9:45 am, Sunday School commenced. At 11:00 am the homecoming message was given by Bro. Kenneth Mills. Bro. David Conner led the music and choir. At noon, a homecoming covered-dish dinner was served, giving a chance for everyone to fellowship and remember.
On Sunday April 27 at 6:00 pm, Bro. Tim Lindsey led the message entitled "God". Bro. Pat Stephens led the music and choir that night.
On Monday April 28 at 6:30 pm, Bro. Ted White led the message entitled "Jesus."
Bro. Pat Stephens led the music and choir again that night. Birthday Cake and ice cream followed the services.
On Tuesday April 29 at 6:30 pm, Bro. Riley Pippen led the message entitled "The Holy Spirit". Bro. Pat Stephens led the music and choir that night.
On Wednesday April 30 at 6:30 pm we celebrated youth night with Bro. Carl Mohn giving the message and Bro. Jason Moughon led the music. Pizza was served following the service.
We welcomed everyone in the East Texas/Kilgore area to attend. We had a great time learning about "The Trinity" as well as celebrating 97 years.
Our regular pastor is Bro. Kelly Brian and our regular worship leader (in charge of music and choir) is David Conner. Our church is located in the same country setting it was 97 years ago. We will be building a new youth building in the near future in order to give the congregation a chance to grow. We have just built a new playground for the children and the youth.
All of our regular services are held in the new building, but never fear; we still own the beautiful original building which houses the teen/youth classes right now. Once the new building is built, the original building will be used for weddings and special occasions.
The church phone number is 903-984-0917.
Sundays we have Sunday School at 9:45 and services at 11:00. We have evening worship at 6:pm.
On Wednesdays we have services at 6:30 pm.
