Ticket Booklets on Sale Through August 28

Nothing says fall in East Texas like football! Atlanta Rabbits, Arkansas High Razorbacks, Queen City Bulldogs - beware! Tigers are on the prowl! Although the Tigers play these teams in exhibition and scrimmage games, the competition is fierce -- especially between the Texas High Tigers and the Arkansas High Razorbacks.

Texarkana seems like one good-sized town, but it is really two towns, straddling the Texas-Arkansas state line. The rivalry between the Tigers and the Razorbacks is legendary, and is often the most attended game of the season. It is not, however, the only game that creates a ton of excitement and pre-game posturing. Speaking as a former Atlanta Rabbit, I can say that the smaller schools take the game very seriously, and look at it as a matter of pride to beat the bigger teams.

The Texas High Tiger football season will open this year to much fanfare: pep rallies, pre-game and post-game parties will abound as our athletes prepare to match muscles and wits against John Tyler, Lake Hamilton, Arkansas High, Longview, Sulphur Springs, Mt. Pleasant, Marshall, Hallsville and Pine Tree High Schools. everyone wants to tame the Tigers! Will they stay at the top of the food chain, or will they be caged? The only way to find out is to watch the fun!

Tickets can be purchased at the gate for most games, but for a better deal and an assured seat, ticket booklets are on sale now at the administrative offices for $34.00 each. The booklets include tickets to four home games, as well as to the John-Tyler game. The office is located at 4241 Summerhill Road, Texarkana, Texas. For more information, please contact Louisa Strutton at 903.794.3651 ext. 1022. Make sure to purchase ticket booklets by August 28, 2008 by 4:00 p.m., and roar into football season with everyone's favorite Texas team! For more information, check out the TISD website.

For those fans across the state line, information on Arkansas High's football season can be found on their website. The Hogs are looking forward to a pretty rowdy season themselves. It looks like this football season will be an exciting one for football fans in the Ark-La-Tex.
