Texas Rangers Are Going to World Series for First Time in History
David Meets Goliath in Arlington, Texas...David Won Again!
In what was viewed as a David vs Goliath game, NY Yankees were confident, coming into the ALCS series with the Texas Rangers. Pitcher Colby Lewis pummeled the Yanks, only giving away three hits and one run in 8 innings, in the exciting game against the invincible powerhouse. Vladimir Guerrero was amazing as he hit a double and a home run, to bring in three runs. Nelson Cruz homered for the Rangers and Josh Hamilton provided the standard we have come to expect from him. Hamilton was named the ALCS MVP. Final Score of tonights game 6-1. Rangers won the playoff series 4 games to 2 to put the normally fierce Yankees back down to baseball reality.
This is the first time in 40 years the Rangers have gone to the World Series. After years and years of varied levels of almost getting to the big game, the Rangers brought it home tonight. The crowd went crazy and to be sure, Dallas/Ft. Worth and all of Texas, are rockin the town this weekend. The party will be on across the the region for the next week.
Texas Rangers started this series with some concern but as the series progressed they proved they had come to play. On August 5, 2010, presenting a winning bid worth more than $608 million, Nolan Ryan and Pittsburgh lawyer Chuck Greenberg bought the Texas Rangers in bankruptcy court in Ft. Worth, Texas. Ryan who signed with the Texas Rangers in 1989 as their star pitcher, is a homegrown hero in Texas. His amazing pitching talent was showcased for the many years he played for the Rangers. Hailing from Alvin, Texas, Nolan Ryan was a star from the beginning. Stepping in to save the Rangers from Bankruptcy and extinction was another heroic act from the great pitcher himself. Tonight the dream came full circle for the Rangers.
The Rangers have made Texas proud tonight. I foresee a great future with Nolan Ryan and Chuck Greenberg at the helm. With coaching staff like Ron Washington and the talented Ranger team, I predict,Texas is just beginning their winning strict. Their bid for the top spot in baseball begins with the end of the National League playoffs. Either San Francisco or Philadelphia will face off with Texas and once again fans in Texas will be glued to the TV, make tracks out to the BallPark At Arlington or crowd their local sports bar to cheer their Rangers to victory.
It has been a long haul for the Rangers. Many coaches, owners and heartaches. This is their shot for their reward for the journey. Go Rangers! We are behind you!
