A Texas Rangers World Series parade could already be in the works. Any World Series parade is contingent on what the Rangers can do on Thursday or Friday night though. Game 6 will take start at shortly after 8:05 p.m. ET on Thursday (Oct. 27), but if the Rangers lose, a Game 7 will take place on Friday night at the same time.
With the Rangers up 3 games to 2 over the St. Louis Cardinals, the American League champions can clinch the first title for the franchise on Thursday night. Jaime Garcia is pitching for the Cardinals and Colby Lewis is taking the mound for the Rangers. After Game 6 got rained-out on Wednesday, it has postponed the name of the title holder this year, but that has also prolonged the season one more day for die-hard baseball fans.
There are probably already plans in the works for a World Series parade in both St. Louis and Arlington, Texas, but neither team wants to jinx it by revealing the details too early. Both cities would love to become the 2011 champions of baseball, but in a superstitious game like this one, no exact details about the parades will come out until the last out takes place in the final game.
If Texas wins, the parade will likely take place on Monday or Tuesday of next week to allow the team to get back in town and for all the arrangements to get made. Arlington has never had a World Series parade come through town, so this could be a very exciting time for fans of the franchise. It will also be a chance for Nolan Ryan to prove that he knew exactly what he was doing when he helped buy the team.
That last game might be tonight in St. Louis. Do you think that the Rangers can close it out? Or maybe you think that the Cardinals are going to win both games at home and take the series in seven game?
