Pflugerville, Texas, is a small town just outside Austin. (Seriously, if you go to the next major street south, it's Austin.) The city has retained its small-town atmosphere. Many family events take place, and it has a few community pools and parks that are appropriate for most ages.

We are a family of five that moved into the complex, River Horse Ranch, approx two months ago. We have found the management and maintenance to be very welcome and helpful. We have a two bedroom apartment, approx 900 square feet, but with the exception of the kitchen, the layout really maximizes the space. All of the appliances are Energy Star, and both of the bedrooms have ceiling fans. All of the appliances are fairly new, and although some things had to be fixed and replaced due to damages from the previous tenants, everything seems to be in proper working order.

There is a large pool centered in the middle of the complex. It has a hot tub (I confess that we have yet to figure out how to make it bubble, but it's ALWAYS warm and a great way to relax at the end of the day), a walk on area for the little ones, two little fountains, and a permanent volleyball net. Aesthetically pleasing chaises, tables, and chairs, are spaced around the pool, along with a few grills, a fireplace, and a nice bar area. It provides the perfect place for gatherings and parties.

The complex also comes with a full gym and a personal trainer that comes a few times a week. All new machines, two locker rooms, and even saunas. There are also basketball courts and tennis courts, so it's very hard to be bored if you are into sports, fitness, or general recreation.

A little farther back into the complex is a nice picnic area with charcoal grills and a playground for the little one's. While it doesn't have any swings, it's fun for older kids with lots to climb on and slide down.

So far all of the neighbors seem to be pretty pleasant, and I haven't seen any incidents of any sort take place.

I would have to say that my only complaint would be parking. In front of every building are six parking spaces. Four are covered and cost around 30 extra a month to rent, two are reserved handicapped, and then two are open. These six are surrounded by 4 garages on either side, with an extra open spot between.
So to help with the math, for two buildings possessing approx 14 apartments apiece (28 apartments), there are only 14 open spots to go around. So it's either pay the extra price or park by the dumpster.

But hey, if that's the only complaint, then I give this complex four stars!!
