I downloaded the online version of TextTwist 2 a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it so much that I decided to get the boxed version when I went to Fry's. The Super Text Twist bonus also twisted my arm.

Super Text Twist

I didn't see anything new from the original Text Twist that I played back in 2003. You can set the game to use 6-letter words, 7-letter words, or 6 and 7-letter words. I played a couple of rounds before I got tired of the game and installed Text Twist 2.

Out of the five games, the Untimed is my favorite because I can take my time to pull as many words as I can see from the anagram. Here is a rundown of the games that are included in Text Twist 2. All of them are fun and challenging.

Word of the Day is great for a quick game. The only drawback is that once you solve the word, you have to wait until the next day to play again. The object is to unscramble the day's word before the timer buzzes. You may also form as many words as you can from the anagram.

Lightning involves Bingo words, which you must solve before the timer buzzes you out of the game. Unless you run out of time, you will go through five rounds.

In Crossword, you fill out the puzzle by using one set of letters. You can start with any space, but be aware that once you enter a word it cannot be changed.

The Timed game is just as the name implies. If you solve the largest word, you'll get a pass if you don't solve all of the words before the timer buzzes.

The one feature that I didn't see in the online download was the trophies. You can earn trophies for things like solving five words without twisting the letters. I can't think of a better way to build your vocabulary than by playing Text Twist 2 and other games like it. Download the free trial at GameHouse.
