T.G.I. Friday's Buffalo Popcorn Chicken Review

It's T.G.I. Friday's!

Snacking is an American past time. Recently I bought T.G.I. Friday's Buffalo Popcorn Chicken for me and my family to snack on. Although I had never ate at T.G.I. Friday's restaurants, I knew the name had a reputation for good food and so I bought it.

T.G.I. Friday's Buffalo Popcorn Chicken can be cooked in the microwave or conventional oven. I chose to bake mine which took a total of sixteen minutes in a 375 degree oven. Each box of T.G.I. Friday's Buffalo Popcorn Chicken comes with a packet of extra Buffalo Sauce. This packet needs to be thawed in a cup of hot water before use. Depending on your taste for heat, you will either dip your chicken into the sauce or you will cover the chicken with it.

Each ten ounce box contained twelve pieces of popcorn chicken. The box says this is three servings. However, if this is all you are eating, then I can see some people eating the three servings themselves. In order to transform this into a meal, I would recommend that you also have a baked potato, fries or a salad with the Buffalo Popcorn Chicken.

The T.G.I. Friday's Buffalo Popcorn Chicken was a delight to eat. The white meat was very tender and moist- not dry and chewy like some other frozen chicken products. The seasoning on the Popcorn Chicken Pieces was not as hot as I thought it would be but it did taste good. The Popcorn Chicken pieces were round and a decent size. Each one had to be broke in at least half.

We chose to pour the extra Buffalo Sauce packet into a small mug and dip our chicken. We all had different opinions on the taste of the sauce. I thought it was cheesy with spice, my son thought it was sour and my husband hated it. We ended up using different condiments for dipping.

I didn't look at the nutritional values of the T.G.I. Friday's Buffalo Popcorn Chicken until after I had bought it. When I did I was surprised. Without sauce, one serving contains 28% of the daily nutritional value of sodium, but that goes up to 57% sodium with sauce. The other daily nutritional value numbers pale in comparison.

All in all I would recommend this product to young healthy people, but not to anyone with high blood pressure concerns.

I paid somewhere around three dollars, give or take a few cents, for the T.G.I. Friday's Buffalo Popcorn Chicken. I bought it at Walmart, but T.G.I. Friday's can probably be bought at most quality grocery stores.
