Thai Bar Girls Steal from Randy Drunk Tourists

Garro
There seems to be a rise in the reports of drunk tourists having their money and valuables stolen by Thai bar girls. The usual scenario seems to be that they meet these girls in a bar, usually in Pattaya, and after a lot of drinking there is an exchange of money for promises of a night of passion. The guy gets the girl back to his hotel room and just as the fun begins to start he passes out. The next thing he knows it's the morning time and the woman is gone with all his valuables; it is like the date rape drug scenario only in reverse. In fact in many instances it is midazolam that has been used to send the punter to dreamland.

I do not wish to get into any moral arguments about men going with Thai bar girls, but you have to wonder about the wisdom of allowing yourself get in this position. Thai bar girls use different medications to send their victim off the sleep; they will sneak this drug into drinks and they have even started rubbing midazolam onto their breasts. These chemicals can put the randiest of holidaymaker to sleep within a half an hour. The girl then has the rest of the night to pick and choose from the belongings that she wants to take with her.

In many instances these Thai bar girls don't even need to use any drugs; as many tourists will quite happily drink themselves into a stupor without the need for too much encouragement. The Thai bar girl will pretend to match her temporary boyfriend drink for drink; what he doesn't realize is that there is no alcohol in her drink or it has been really watered down.

The type of Thai bar girl involved this type of redistribution of wealth will tend to be a freelancer. This means that she won't actually belong to any bar and so the chances of finding her again are almost zero. If the girl has managed to get enough money out of the deal she will be able to afford a few weeks holiday. Most tourists will not report this type of thing because prostitution is actually illegal in Thailand. There is also a good chance that their picture could end up on the front page of the local newspaper; who knows the story could be syndicated around the world. Many people will think that the man here has gotten what he deserved; there is no doubting that it is a harsh lesson.
