Thai & Sushi Diner in Lawrenceville, Georgia - Restaurant Review

I discovered Thai & Sushi Diner a few years ago when I was shopping at Discover Mills Mall in Lawrenceville, Georgia. I recall noticing the beauty of the Asian inspired design and décor. There are two entrances to this Diner and both are equally impressive. If you come into the Diner from the Mall entrance you are transported to a quaint atmosphere with lots of Asian inspired décor that includes beautiful wood and splashes of vibrant color. As you walk further into the diner you see the Sushi bar which is reminiscent of an outside bistro outfitted with a red and white awning.

As you journey deeper into the diner you'll find nice touches of Asian artwork and more beautiful wood tables throughout. Near the street entrance is my favorite because when you walk in you notice lovely silk fabric that drape either side of some very impressive windows. So if the décor is any indication of what's to come, you are in for a treat my friend!

The first time I dined at the Thai & Sushi Diner, I ordered their Spicy catfish dish which was served on a bed of rice with vibrant peppers and vegetables. The combination of the lightly breaded catfish with spice was so good that I kept coming back for more. Unfortunately, they no longer serve that dish, but don't let that discourage you because they have lots of other wonderful dishes to choose from.

If you are a Sushi lover like me, they have so many choices that you'll find it hard to choose just one dish. Therefore every time I go, I try at least two or three just to see which I prefer the most. My current favorite Sushi is their Super Crunch which is Tempura flakes with masago and Japanese mayo and topped with shrimp. The Volcano and Spider is a close second. If you do try the Volcano; just a word of caution; you will have to allow 15 minutes for preparation as its baked crab meat and masago in Japanese mayo. Can you say yum? You will once you try it.

Their dinner menu has some lovely dishes as well. Some of my favorite include: Glazed walnut mango prawn in white wine sauce and their Grilled salmon fillet in panang curry sauce. Their Black pepper steak comes in a close third for me. The Thai & Sushi Diner is located inside the Discover Mills Mall at 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30043. Bottom-line: Great food. Fantastic location. Price point $3.25 to $10.00 for lunch and $5.00 to $20.00 for dinner.
