Thank You Adoption (Poem)

It Should Be Noted that I was Abandoned in a Very Public Place Where I was Sure to Be Found

Allana Calhoun
I'd like to thank this certain thing
If not for it, I wouldn't be living
For I was abandoned

I was born in a country far away
where exactly it's hard to say
for I was abandoned

I was found and put in an orphanage
I had no clue to my heritage
for I was abandoned

My parents left me to live or die
the question I always ask is why
was I abandoned

The orphanage gave to a family
I joined, knowing nothing of my history
for I was abandoned.

With this family I'm happily living
so once again I'd like to thank this thing
that saved me when I was abandoned.
