gunning all the way,
demons coming for more;
the Winchester boys are here to stay.
Talking with Castiel,
guardian angel at my side,
raising a little hell,
this is one hell of a wild ride.
The bells are ringing now.
Angels are taking flight.
No time to break your vow.
It is time to fight.
So, sit back and enjoy the ride.
More laughter and tears will roam.
Thank you, TV Guide
for bringing Supernatural home.
What is family? Soft, golden rays of sun race across deep, blue water, breathtaking in sight, the touch of life, but the waters could run cold, washing conflict across the shore, and drown deep into misery, turmoil over time. But love never dies. The waves keep flowing over warmth and bitter, touching the shore to ease the pain left behind, promising forgiveness, but could we ever forgive? Whispers of hope trickle down across soft, golden rays of sun, never leaving the waters that sparkle below, bonds never to be broken, the definition of family, the Winchester family.
Cold winds have been stealing across the corridors of television. The promise of new life, new adventure disappears as fast as a birthday candle. Heroes and villains fade, and Reality TV reigns. Our hunger for worlds beyond our own are left unsatisfied, and the television screen remains black. The promise of escape, to dive deep into lives beyond are own has become less and few, but some tv shows still hold strong, taking our heart and mind in hand, and filling our cup with imagination beyond our own dreams. So, there is still hope, and we hold onto the ones that we love, the ones that we will never let go. But when the time does come, when their fires dwindle down to flames, memory will flicker and ignite, forever burning their journey, their legend into soul.
Out of all the great television shows therein lies the Supernatural. Over the decades, we have been introduced to Buffy, Angel, the Charmed, the Reaper, Brimstone, and the Sanctuary. We hunger for what we do not understand, for the lore and legends that bite into curiosity and intrigue, and for monsters both horrifying and mystifying. We hunger to know more. We thirst to touch what lies beyond our front door. We chase the shadows of heroes defined and conflicted, men that connect us to heaven and hell and what lies in-between. We are the moth to their flame, their heart and soul, and we are theirs as they struggle with journey and hunt destiny. We need them. We need to be more, and they are our stars shining light over where we dare not go but dream. Their stories carry us forward, fill us up, and without them, we would fall aside, empty, unfulfilled, and dreaming nothing but hollow dreams. We need them. We need television to promise that shows such as the Supernatural will always be there to take us by hand, hold our hearts and minds, and give us a taste, a touch of a world that lies now close in hand, a world that makes our ordinary lives fall aside.
But as we break on through to the Supernatural side, it is not just the hunt that takes hold. It is not just the monsters, ghosts, or demons and angels that capture our attention. It is not the fate of the world that steals our breath away. It is the bonds to never be broken, the love never to die. It is family. There is no perfect family. The image of such perfection is a portrait long faded away. Family is now defined by conflict, but through our darkest hours, we still hold strong. We don't give up, and neither do they. The Winchester boys shine with the passion of actors devoted to delivering all that they are, and through hell and back, the Winchesters hold strong. Their love, their strength echoes deep within our hearts, and this is why we love them, characters never to be forgotten. And this is why we return week after week to the WB. This is why this television show remains a fan favorite, one honored in this week's TV Guide. This is one show that is a must see, and please, don't forget to vote for such a gem in the People's Choice Awards 2011.
