Thankful to Be A.M.E.R.I.C.A.N

Thankful to live in
America
This land of sweeping majesty
And awesome beauty

Thankful for the
Mayflower
Whose passengers persevered in triumph
And gave us this national holiday

Thankful for our
Equality
Where "all men are created equal"
And women and people of color too

Thankful for our
Rights
To vote, to worship, to live free
However we choose

Thankful for our
Individuality
And the diversity
That makes our nation great

Thankful to be a
Citizen
And to my parents
For immigrating here

Thankful for the
Amazing Grace
That lives within each of us
Despite our differences

Thankful for the
Native Americans
Their culture and their history
Have shaped us all

I am, and forever will be
